I think they do....U_U

Although i don't see adsense programs while reading the manga nowadays...there used to be in the past...they even used the adbrite program

The site has a good page rank and alexa rank....google has indexed this site properly....these adsense and adbrite programs offer great revenue for the site.

And again there are many premium users who add more to the revenue

Some offer revenue for hosting particular file and image....

NB has to pay for the servers, its web developer if any and the mods as well....

This is just my opinion...I don't think mods are doing this for free...

Or do they enjoy being jerks for free? Seriously, why are you dudes and/or dudettes so demanding? There's obviously some incentive involved, no?

We're not demanding anything. In fact what we ask is ridiculously simplistic and very easy: follow the forum rules, which are basic rules that most forums have. If you can't even do that and even make a thread about it to whine, then you're acting like a jerk here as the only thing you do is sitting on your ass and complain complain complain while we are working. You probably haven't even the slightest clue as how much we actually do daily and then start complaining about some insignificant stuff.

And no we don't get anything, unless you count the colored name and a larger avatar, things that you can get also while not being a mod. In fact if anything we are horribly 'underpaid' if you would compare all the benefits (and money is not one of them) we get as a mod to all the work we do. We do get often the occasional whiners who complain in public how the big bad mods infracted them, even though in 95% of the cases it was simply their own fault, all for free! Great isn't it!

I agree so hard.

Lol. That's no excuse.

They come off to be so evil to me.

We're not evil, you're just so self-centered and spoiled that you can't handle it when people put you in your place. Because it's unacceptable for you that someone actually goes against you, they must be evil incarnate and you must make a thread about it to whine. Grow up.

To any moderators or admins viewing this, I in no way intend this to be offending. I have seen some abuse recently. I am a new user and created posts that weren't according to policy, instead of informing me about the actions I had done or how to prevent these types of things in the future, they deleted my thread and then threatened to ban me.

That's no abuse. When you joined the forums, you were simply supposed to read the rules. That's common knowledge. If you refused to do that and then got punished for breaking a rule, then it's your own fault and not the mods. I sincerely doubt a mod threatened you, unless he came to your house and pushed a knife against your throat claiming he would slice it if you wouldn't follow the rules. If not then the mod just warned you and stated the potential final outcome if you keep ignoring the rules.

I say that often to new members who I just gave a verbal warning/warning/infraction that they please would read the rules as otherwise in the worst-case scenario they would be banned if they would keep on ignoring it. If you didn't read the rules and broke one of them, it's simply your fault and only your fault, not the mod's. Take responsibility for your own actions. The rules are posted in every section at the top.

If anything we are actually extremely lenient compared to how strict we could be and compared to other forums. Most people don't even realize how many times they were actually let off the hook. The critic that we would be actually too nice is more closer to the truth than those biased comments of being jerks or power obsessed people.

Maybe because they're never on. xd

That doesn't even make sense. If we're never on, then this thread shouldn't even exist as how infracting people, making them mad so that they can whine about it in threads when we're not on?

Some rules are ridiculous and paid too much attention i think we all can agree

No, that's mainly you and other people who just have something against rules simply because it restricts them, the main aspect of any rule. None of the rules are ridiculous, they're here for a reason. You also completely ignore the differences between individual staff members, a mistake most people here do. Acting like they know everything about the staff, but in reality just make shallow globalizations based on minor, insignificant actions of individual mods.

I said "perspire- it sounds like the name of a poem" and Scorps gave me a big ol' infraction. -_-

Now that's funny. Normally people are taught that lying is bad. Haven't you reached that lesson yet? As you know we mods have the ability to see all the infractions every person received, whether they are expired or even reversed...and you haven't gotten a single one.

How to explain that? Ah, yes! I know how! It was on another account. So you are complaining on this account for a WARNING, not an infraction (big difference as for warnings you don't receive any infraction points, so you're lying either way), you got on another account. An account you are you using for virtual cross dressing considering it's female, and this one male. An account where actually on purpose are trying to mimic a specific type of a feminine personality like saying 'sweety' all the time and having girls in pink dresses in your signature and profile picture, even start lecturing people how they should log out to study. While on this account you make threads like "who will get the most hoes", "who is the most important fodder" or whether Sasuke will become a polygamist or not due to all the 'whores' he can choose from. This all shows you pretty much just want to annoy people.

So it's fairly obvious that anything you say is simply worthless and untrustworthy. It's possible that this is the account you're trying to mimic a certain personality, or that you're just schizophrenic, it doesn't really matter.

Who disciplines the mods anyway

We are mods because we are disciplined. If you have a problem with a mod, go to a smod, if you have a problem with a smod, go to an admin, if you have a problem with an admin, you maybe should start considering that the problem isn't the staff, but simply you (something people never do and make threads to whine about it).

No way, Scorps was wrong for that one. I'm sure he's capable of understanding the differences in "doing my job" and "being a jerk." That's all I said.

He was not wrong, several people received warnings and infractions in that thread. You're just whining because you received a warning. You could start discussing whether it was truly worth giving anything for, but theoretically anything that breaks a rule, no matter how minor it is, can be be punished and considering you already have a history of causing trouble, there is nothing wrong with it.

I think they do....U_U

We get diddly squat, nothing. Unless once again you're going to refer to our colored name and lovely PM's we get as a response on the infractions we gave someone =/
So yeah your opinion is horribly wrong, we do this for free, this is volunteer work. What some people here are doing is in fact whining about volunteer workers, which is simply disrespectful, especially when they themselves aren't doing anything to help NB. If anything they do the opposite and then complain about the ones who help NB? In fact the idea that we actually would get money is from a mod's perspective extremely hilarious as it's simply as far from the truth you could possibly be.
