Do avatars get stronger after every reincarnation

I remember Roku once saying that Avatar state is an automatic defense mechanism in which the current avatar is granted all the skills and experience of the previous avatars

That should mean that avatars should be more skilled than avatars that came a long time before them

Hmmm.... I would say no.
Initially the strength will always vary , However the power increase in each Avatar state will increase , I think Roku was stronger than Aang , but when Aang entered the Avatar state they where equal because Aangs' avatar state was stronger than Roku's (one generation later) and brought them to equal terms because Aang had a larger power increase
