IF(and only if) Deidara is able to get into the air in time, he nukes kabuto with C3/C4. However, kabuto is a sage and with superhuman reflexes, he should be able to use his sound genjutsu and white rage attack to immobilize deidara before that happens and win.

Why would you think it takes longer to set up SM when he starts off in DSM.

Kabuto can let Deidara go airborn anyway, he is still not winning this at all.

White Rage blinds the target, so even if its not in a cave its still has its usefulness to blind. Even the sound it makes wouldn't make Deidara hear Kabuto's movement.

He either uses Manda II (which is as long as Perfect Susanoo) to reach and eat.

Jirobo Doton defense to block in coming explosions

Muki Tensei, so he can reanimate the ground as a ledge to go higher.

C4 get sense, thus useless once he gets out of range, via Doton.

It's not like people don't have eyes and ears outside a cave. Sound and light still travels... The sound reverberating off the cave helped, but it's not like that Jutsu is utterly nothing outside a cave...

It isn't hard to enter SM, since he can move while doing it.

He can use Snake summoning to buy him 10-20 secs top to enter.
