As in, standardized rule on what would happen to the actual rank of each object, when created by the same jutsu.
We have reached a consensus that, when a jutsu allows the creation of more than 1 object, each individual object does not carry the total of the rank/chakra/damage, but merely a fraction. It's the totality of all objects which carry the power scales.
Actual example:
S rank jutsu creates 2 fireballs. If we counter only one fireball with an S rank jutsu of our own, ours will overpower our opponent's and carry on, albeit weakened. Now, how much weak? There's no quantifiable amount, at least not standardized.
First I'd like to point out an initial suggestion, which works fairly well in punctual matters, but fails to work correctly on more specific encounters, especially when dealing with stat boosts.
Basic Value Table of Jutsu Encounters, or, as I'd like to call it, Point System. Consist on the attribution of a single value to each rank, and an additional value for elemental weaknesses, in order to preform simple math when two techniques encounter.
E = 1
D = 2
C = 3
B = 4
A = 5
S = 6
So, if two jutsus of the same element (no weakness involved) encounter, but one is of a weaker value, the resulting effect would be a weakened version of the strongest jutsu, following the table:
A rank vs C rank = 5 - 3 = 2, which means attacking jutsu carries on as a D rank.
If elemental weaknesses apply, then 1 value (or more, in double weaknesses) will be added to the vantage jutsu. As in:
A rank vs C rank (vantage) = 5 - (3+1) = 1, which means attacking jutsu carries on as a E rank.
But of course, there is no palpable quantification when stats changes apply, or when two jutsu combine (we can hardly have 2 S ranks to combine following the Point System)
There is another system in play, let's call it Rank System. Where ranks are divided into objects following the rank. Halves will have 2 previous ranks, thirds will have 1 previous rank and 2 previous previous ranks, and so on. Ex:
S rank / 2 = 2 A ranks
A rank / 3 = 2 C ranks + 1 B rank
C rank / 4 = 4 D ranks
This is good, in theory. But is also limited. While combinations can be sort of calculated, we have jutsus of the same rank, so it increases 1 rank overall. If we have jutsus one rank apart, it will only make a stronger version of the highest rank.
2 B ranks combine = 1 A rank
1 A rank and a B rank combine = Strong A rank (T)
1 A rank and a C rank combine = A rank, slightly stronger? (Q)
What if T and Q were to collide? Well, T is stronger than Q, but would come from it?
I figure we could use the actual chakra and damage output, and consider Ranks as being denominations of ranges of chakra/damage points, as such:
Weak E rank/Nothing = 0-4
E = Chakra 5-9, 5 being the standard
D = C 10-14, 10 being the standard
C = 15-19, 15 being the standard
B = 20-29, 20 being the standard
A = 30-39, 30 being the standard
S = 40-Onwards, 40 being the standard
Jutsu would thus be divided evenly, and have the correspondent rank, jutsu that vary less than 5 will be considered almost the same, as such, when a jutsu reaches 0-4 after an encounter, it will be considered as a 0 (with more or less directional splashes)
Now, if a jutsu crates 2 objects, each will have half the power stated in the submission.
S Rank creates 2 objects. 40 / 2 = 20, 2 B Ranks
A rank creates 3 objects = 30 / 3 = 10, 3 D ranks
D rank creates 4 objects = 10 / 4 = 2,5 (Weak E ranks, inefficient standing alone)
If jutsus are combined, the main one (With the elemental advantage) will have it's stats unaltered, while the supporting one will provide half it's stats.
2 B ranks combine, 20 each. 20 + 10 = A rank.
1 C rank (Main)+ 1 A rank = 15 + 15 = 30 A rank.
1 A rank (Main)+ 1 C rank = 30 + 7,5 = 37,5 A rank (Strong A rank)
Stat changes will be carried like so. +5 will add power or even upgrade rank.
B rank + 5 = 20 + 5 = 25 B rank (Strong)
B rank + 10 = 20 + 10 = 30 A rank
B rank + 20 = 20 + 20 = S rank
Now, we would only need to choose a stat change for Elemental weaknesses. I'd say 5 or 10. What do you guys think?
Point System?
Rank System?
Chakra System?
+5, +10?
