Discussion: Has Naruto really surpassed Minato?

Naruto has grown so much in the shippuden. And multiple times it's been stated that Naruto has surpassed somebody (Kakashi or Jiraya) because he created rasen shurikan or learned senjutsu. Yes, Naruto has become great, but has he surpassed his father?

Minato invented the rasengan and Naruto invented the rasen shurikan. Minato couldn't complete the rasengan because he died. So the rasen shurikan has surpassed the rasengan. However, the rasegan still has important properties. For instance, if you wanted to seriously injury or impair your opponent but not kill them the rasengan is better (like how Naruto recently did with Sasuke).

Naruto has mastered Sage mode and Minato hasn't. In addition, Naruto has KM.

On the flip side, Minato has FTG. Naruto can get fast too with KM. However, we don't know which one is faster. We just know that both are faster than the Raikage.

Minato knows sealing jutsus from the Uzumaki clan. I forget what's it called.

Also, maybe its just me, but it seems that Minato just has it all together. Jiraya called him a genius you only see once a generation. He's smart and analytical, and Naruto's . . . not. He analyzed Kakashi's chidori and determined that Kakashi's wasn't ready to use it.

Anyway. Thoughts?

Characters all have there flaws, Kishi hasnt expressed Minato's yet. Naruto is somewhat dumb but he has raw power and speed. Minato is just one of those static characters that are supposed to be idolized in the world of Naruto. Soon, and i mean very soon, Naruto willbe on the same level.

In some ways he has. Naruto has more power now,but I think he isnt at Minato's level yet. Minato has more experience and Naruto does not. Someday,soon, Naruto will completely surpass his father.

No, Minato moves instantly, because he teleports. Raikage uses raw speed and thats why he will never be as fast as Minato. Their reaction speed might be at the same level.

naruto has surpassed minato in every aspect except speed and smart-wise..... and for the ppl saying naruto or A are same/faster than minatos FTG need to reread the manga

Naruto has surpassed Minato. I think minato might have had sage mode. I agree that minato was a genius but Hard work > Geniuseness. Ex are Naruto > Sasuke/ Neji.

1.He surpassed him by creating the rasenshuriken.
2.By learning SM, there is no proof whatsoever if Minato had SM or not, but Naruto's SM was perfect, he even surpassed the toad sage Jyraia.
3.With his victory against the Kiuby he gained access to incredible power, speed and all that. So i guess we could say that he surpassed Minato when it comes to pure speed.

Now on the other hand:
1.Minato still has FTG which is above any speed or space time jutsu we have seen so far.
2.He knows seals from the Uzumaki clan.
3.He still is smarter, more tactical, and has more experience than Naruto.

So overall i still think Naruto hasn't yet surpassed his father, he is close... i think he will surpass him by the end of the war.

Simple answer no. Power isn't everything and if naruto fought his father than minato would be handle naruto with ease imo.
