Many members wonder what is difference between pure and regular Byakugan. So I will be kind and explain everything with perfect example :

We will use only canon facts and compare 13 years old Hinata Byakugan insight with 13 years old Hanabi pure Byakugan insight.

A) 13 years old Hinata regular Byakugan perception :

As we see 13 old Hinata Byakugan couldn't see her opening points are closed. Neji even confirmed this by saying " my eyes can even see opening points " clearly suggesting HInata eyes can't.

B) 13 years old Hanabi Pure Byakugan perception :

As we see her pure Byakugan perception is already on level of any adults like Hiashi and others.

So conclusion :

At age of 13 Hinata regular Byakugan couldn't even see chakra points while Hanabo's pure Byakugan was as good as any adult Hyuga.

Thanks for reading and I hope this explains why Toneri wanted Hanabi Byakugan eyes for his Tenseigan.

Thats Kakashi talking about chakra pathway system ( chakra network / inner coils system) .Hinata could see that no one denied that but as Kakashi later said

Above the inner coils system are 361 chakra holes something Hinata couldn't see at that point.

Seeing tenketsu requires greater insight thats why Neji was bragging how his eyes can see even the tenketsu and Hinata couldn't see them and she didn't even realise they are closed until Neji showed it to her.

Solo empress Himawari's eyes have to be the purest in that case....:score:

Anyway, Hinata was 12 during the chunnin exams and Neji was 13. So the comparison doesn't make sense.

Besides Hinata's byakugan was said to rival Neji's in the DB so I am sure by the age of 13 she was able to perceive at least as much as Neji could during the chunnin exams and he was called the greatest genius ever to exist in the Hyuga clan and even Hiashi claimed his byakugan was superior to Hanabi's.

There's no explanation yet but I think it's transmigrancy related

This is completely irrelevant . I am comparing part 1 Hinata with Hanabi from the last they were around same age at that point.Your databook scan is from part 2 which is 4 years after this fight.

Neji at part 1 could only see 50 meters away which is clearly not as good as adult Hyuga anf Hanabi at same age had same perception as adult Hyuga as said so she was superior at that point.

Hiashi was comparing 13 years old Neji with 7 years old Hanabi which is not version I am using in thread so its irrelevant too.

I was kind of hoping more along the lines of:

Pure byakugan has the ability to transcend into Jougan and unlock tenseigan while regular byakugan remains as such.
Similar principle to the Uchiha with only a few Uchihas ever attaining Mangyekou and only one/two gaining rinnegan.

But what I got:

Hinata was unskilled and Neji's hard work and proving his worth paid off

Oh but it does make a difference. Around the same age is not the same age and a difference of a year could have a huge impact on a ninja's growth and abilities and thus your comparison is inaccurate and thus invalid.

Neji at part 1 could only see 50 meters away which is clearly not as good as adult Hyuga anf Hanabi at same age had same perception as adult Hyuga as said so she was superior at that point.

@Bold So define the perception of an adult hyuga then with mangafacts. And also note that even with the so called perception of a adult hyuga, Hanabi was never called a genius ever while Neji was regarded as the greatest hyuga genius ever to exist by everyone.

Hiashi was comparing 13 years old Neji with 7 years old Hanabi which is not version I am using in thread so its irrelevant too.

Hiashi was comparing the potential overall irrespective of age and the below scans clearly proves my point. He clearly says the main branch has been surpassed and Hanabi was the heir back then and he also says that Hizashi should've been the head meaning Hanabi had no chance of ever surpassing Neji. Also Hanabi never hid her true potential like Hinata did so Hiashi's comparison was pretty fair.

:wut: Wasn't you the one that said the DB is inconsistent?? By manga she showed nothing that have her Byakugan on par with Neji.

I did and exactly for the reasons you've mentioned. But she actually fought side by side with Neji during the war and watched his back during the war arc and Neji himself held Hinata in a high regard and praised her skills. So I don't see what's the inconsistency here?

Giving praise just mean you acknowledge their skill/will don't necessarily mean it's a high regard. Besides Neji started doing that anyone during part 1 when Naruto beat him up. My point was there isn't much or any feats that have their Byakugan being on par or greater.

Hanabi would be 14 in the last since Hinata is 19. So there's still a 2 year gap with Part 1 Hinata.
