well... if nine times out of ten *********** has the best translations i would still root for *********** over mangapanda. sometimes, the mangapanda translations are so terrible that it makes it difficult to actually understand whats going on as the dialogue is so hit an miss

Yup, ***********'s translations are generally better than mangapanda's

But I don't think it was a good idea for the OP to use this page as an example because *********** kind of screwed up here...

I don't think it's a mistranslation. *********** is very good, them accidentally translating "fellow traitor" to "Judas" is highly unlikely.

What translators sometimes do is, they take a dialogue or line and while retaining the same meaning, use slang or a bit more Westernized language as a way to add a touch to their translations to appeal to fans. That's what they did here. They did something similar A while ago. I believe it was when they made Naruto say "We'll make the Juubi bite the curb!", and curbs don't exist in Naruto since they are no sidewalks.

It's not like Obito said "Traitor " and they said "Fairy Pony Princess"

That figure of speech doesn't fit in Narutoverse. One of the basic concepts in any creative piece- do not use terms which do not fit it. Jesus doesn't exist in that world so Judas has no meaning. It's translators personal concept seeping in.

Sometimes i prefer mangapanda and sometimes i prefer ***********, this time it was ***********.. but i always read them both.
Usually i prefer mangapanda because they use better language, with *********** i always have the idea that they're giving their own twist to the words.
