Amaterasu is instant. its not something that gradually comes at you. I am aware that he seemed surprised by naruto showing up so fast. But hes Fkn Tobi... of all people he should have sensed him coming right at him. Like i said, he was able to phase through things he wasn't even looking at, so why couldn't he phase through that. It's possible kishi just wanted to put some awesome sht there for us to see which is great, just doesn't make sense. But this time is probably is what it seems to be.
