Did Madara genuinely care (a little) about Obito?

Their interaction back in 665 looks like Madara did hold some (even if they were small) connections with Obito. Sure it could have merely been to get black Zetsu close to him so that Madara could get the Rinnegan but why would he go through all the trouble of reminding Obito of what he lost when he could get it himself?

Before I thought they hated each other but there is some small mutual acknowledgement between the two of them.

Opinions?

No that's why obito says there is a difference between entrusting someone with something and making them take your name.

Honestly. Some of the shit they talked about that chapter was a little bit over my head and I didn't really understand much of it... But I must say that I didn't really understand why madara was trying to act like obito was 'still the savior' like really? The guy is on deaths door, has madaras essence forcefully controlling him, and madara has the sage power why is he telling obito to come before him and that he is still the savior of the world? To completely troll face him and be like loLl Sike I'm taking my rinnegan back bich. It felt like madara did show something towards him

They both gained the ems so, meaning they share the same pain in loss.

losing someone they love through a traumatic death?

You know at first I thought that at first madara did not care a bit about Obito but I'm not so sure any more. I think that Madara feels connected to Obito because he was the one that taught him and the one that persuaded him into following his path. Apart from him, there was no one else other than Obito who had till then. Maybe deep inside of him he needs to see persuade Obito as a way to get certain for his actions, the same way Obito did with naruto.

Also, from Obito's point of view it seems thtat there are indeed some feelings towards Madara. Why else would he ask him what he is to him if he wasn't interested to begin with?

I believe that he does care for him.
Madara isn't killing for fun, he is only killing as much as he needs to reach his goal.
I think that there are 2 people on the field which he would prefer not to kill if possible, Hashirama (they were friends as kids and he probably wants to show him that his way was the right one) and Obito.

Obito's an ass.
Madara saved his life and gave him extra years he wouldn't have. Didn't even have the decency to repay his debt. Obito's not a real man.
Real men repay their debts.

he already repayed madara by bring him back to life and had it not been for obito the whole war and moon eye plan wouldn't have happen

Yes I think he did, seems like Madara just couldn't understand why Obito would decide abandoning Infinite Tsukuyomi plan considering the hell he went through and Madara considers all those who contribute to the plan: MADARA.

Deep down, beyond the paper and ink, I'd say yes, there is a tiny bit of sentiment left in Madaras heart.

Remember zabuza supposedly cared less about haku than madara shows atm, but deep down there was a lotta love ;)

All he needs is a Good TNJ by Ψ Naruto Ψ

on a serious note I think he does "a tiny bit"
