For one. It's a last ditch effort. Obito would have intel on Madara. Therefore giving the SA a boost. Also Obito is controlling BZ. By putting some doubt in Obito it will allow BZ to regain control thus letting Madara get the kyubi. The latter is pretty obvious. Madara obviously doesn't know about the tailed beasts within Naruto else that pannel wouldn't excist and he'd lolwtfstomp Obito even if it killed BZ for the greater good.
