Did Madara ever actually care about peace

Dude, madara wants to obtain ABSOLUTE peace. He knows that peace cannot exist without war and conflict in the real world so hes making heaven with his infinite tsukoyumi.

To him, its pointless. There will be more people worse than him in the future. So hell end the conflict by putting everyone in his genjutsu.
Hes not evil. Hes just given up. He prefers the ultimatum.
Seriously though, hes right. If given the opportunity, people will screw other people if it benefits them.
Plus, its heaven.

Madara has relished killing since the second he arrived and started beating down soldiers from the ninja alliance.

The fact that in the past Hashirama offered Madara peace in the past (chapter 622 etc.) and he threw it back in his face, proves to me that Madara cares nothing for peace. Madara's response to Hashirama's peace talks were "Kill yourself or kill your brother Tobirama if you want to wipe the slate clean." Even if I was to be fair and say all Madara wants is acknowledgement, Hashirama gave him that and offered him peace time after time to no avail.
Obito on the other hand, has actually tried to warn the world about Madara with the little control he has, and has preferred to focus on talk.

Actually I believe that madara truly does want peace but is going about it the wrong way. To those saying that he is a ruthless killer, people have to die to achieve true pace, just like kakuzu's death and hidans. Etc.

It's not that simple. Madara eventually left the village because he got the impression (mainly through reading the Uchiha Tablet) that true peace isn't possible the way Hashirama tried.
