I think Itachi gave Naruto the Yata mirror that was attached to his Susanoo. It would be the perfect defense against Amaterasu and that ugly Susanoo arrow. Itachi gave the Totsuka sword to his brother but the shield to Naruto seeing as Naruto is the only one that could put him in his place.
