Did Hagormo really have the sharingan?

I decided to watch that one filler arc, and boy there was a lot of convoluted crap right there. I can get pass Ashura using mokuton, but some abnormal rasengan form was just ridiculous. And then theres Hagoromo having the sharingan, I mean did he really? Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Well, BZ did say Hagoromo awakened the Rinnegan. So, he had to have something prior to it.

The manga didn't give him the sharingan only the Rinne..

But it's hinted at that the sharingan is a evolution from the Byakugan.. (It could be a mistranslation on the evolution of the Byaku because the Byaku doesn't evolve without a transplant of another Byaku like sharingan)

Hagoromo may not fit with the average Hyuuga/Uchiha dynamic of these doujutsu's an is why they had his Byaku doujutsu evolve to the sharingan in the anime..

(Though it's not really clear that he had a Byaku in the anime either because he never awaken it or did they emphasize that he used it)

If the Sharingan is to evolve to the Rinne with thicker blood, then Hago's situation does fit because he's no Fusion of two bloods but apart of the original source of these mutated doujutsu's so he had an original evolution of the eyes..

Indra could've been the same.. If he would've stayed alive long enough then I believe he would've awaken the Rinne on his own down the line cause he is still close to the source power..

In the show I believe what happened was he awakened the mangekyou sharingan, and then it shows the mangekyou sharingan transforming into the rinnegan in the same moment. It's not canon, but I actually think it makes sense that he had the sharingan initially. Ashura and Indra inherited Senju and Uchiha chakra respectively. The Rinnegan is the combination of them both, the power of the rinnegan was essentially split into the sharingan and powerful senju lifeforce. When his Mangekyo turned into the Rinnegan it was just like how Madara awakened the Rinnegan with senju DNA.

Nope, the sharingan came about from him having kids and the dilution of his power. Hagoromo doesn’t need both sides to awaken the rinnegan, he IS both sides

I dunno, Hagoromo was never hinted at having the Sharingan.

They made it kind of clear that the Sharingan was created through Indra.

I never denied he awakened the Rinnegan but I denied all thing prior that unless Databook confirms that Hago had a Sharingan.

You need Ashura and Indra's chakra to awaken the Rinnegan. They got that from Hagoromo. The Sharingan is a dilution of his powers. Awakened the Rinnegan could mean anything from he had normal eyes, then one day when his powers grew/peaked he got the Rinnegan. Only uchiha transmigrants go from Sharingan to Rinnegan I.e. Madara and Sasuke.
