Yes she was scared of Shukaku not Gaara. Part 1 Temari could blow away a whole forest. Imagine what Part 2 Temari is capable of. Gaara doesn't always have sand nearby. Sometimes just the sand he carries with him. Under right circumstances Temari beats him more time than not.

I don't know why Hinabae bashes me for my opinion. I guess she is salty about something but I didn't do anything to her.

Hiz peak not only at strength but also az character. In part 2 he iz teh thirtsy for Naruto and one of his biggest fanboys.

He had teh potential but sadly without Shukaku he is jonin level at best.

He doesn't need Shukaku to kill her casually with a Suna Bunshin. Even without Shukaku, Gaara is a legitimately frightening opponent and he barely even used Shukaku throughout the Chunin Exams where he crushed one dream after another. Part 1 Gaara wasn't scary because of Shukaku's power but because of the bloodlust he built up as a result of Shukaku torturing him by telling him he would run wild and kill everyone if he ever slept. Part II Gaara just lost that bloodlust and that's possibly why he seems less of a savage

All of that doesn't change the fact that Temari was afraid of the Monster inside Gaara and not Gaara specifically. When Sasuke actually made Gaara bleed Temari was scared, yes. She was scared because Gaara was injured but that's because Shukaku can take over Gaara whenever he gets injured or falls asleep. Re-read the arc because you can tell she was clearly afraid of Shukaku. The fear of Gaara resulted from Shukaku not more not less.

Shukaku was just one part of the reason Gaara was feared. During the Chuunin Exams, he was so intimidating barely anyone wanted to go up against him and they didn't even know about Shukaku

You should look back to Gaara’s fight against Kimmaru. He had no sand other than his gourd and even that sand wasn’t enough, so he used in to dig underground and bolster its defense with diamond mineral and loosened the earth enough to effect the entire area.

Sure Temari can blow away and entire forest but Gaara can swallow that entire forest by uprooting the ground beneath it. His sand has enough mass, volume, and quantity to counter and defend against all of Temari’s attacks.

I can respect her power and that you think she could beat him, but I just don’t see it, not without the handicap you mentioned but then it really isn’t a battle if you have to nerf Gaara now is it?

But I’m a bit biased as Gaara is one of my favs so I can admit that.

OT Gaara is strong and kage level but i feel he's hella overrated by a few.

Are you thinking Kurosutchi? I could see her beating him if she learned Oonoki’s weight altering trick in tandem with some of her own techs. She could really mess up his defense offense game. I think that would make and interesting match to be honest.

Beside her I’m not sure any of the others would win other than. Naruto of course.

Yeah the Added-Weight Rock technique hard counters Gaara and can render his sand too heavy to move or too light to do any real damage. If she does have that she could possibly beat him, but as far as I know there's no indication she does
