That's probably the toughest question I've been asked since I started the RP. I'm a huge fan of both.. So, I suppose I would prefer Squirrel lol.

Dean it is then!

Dean makes his way to the training field. Gah, this time it was a guy.. he had hoped for it to be another babe. Oh well, maybe he was good at what Dean was going to teach him. On his person, Dean had a small bag that contained some things he'll be using in the training. Upon arriving at his allocated spot, which was near to a small lake, Dean could see his student waiting for him. He was sitting in a meditative position, and donned some yellow hair. Weird...

"Hey there, I am Dean Winchester of the Nekura Clan, and I will be teaching you the element of Water. Now, tell me everything you know about the element in the Naruto Verse, its strengths and weaknesses, and known users of the element. Use as much detail as you can, so I can see how much you know about the element itself. Oh, and give me your name, otherwise I will refer to you as "Yellow-Haired-Kid."

Dean then put his hands in his pockets as he asked the question. He wanted to see what the kid knew.

Trunks opens one eye as the man approaches, having sensed him from a distance. He rises to show his attentiveness as he listens to him speak. As he listens, Trunks takes in all of the man's physical features. Aged and hardened, he was strong. There was no doubt.

Water is the element of life. Without it, life as we know it can not exist. Being a liquid, it holds no true form; either taking the form of whatever container it is in, or going with whatever force is being acted on it. Water has interesting interactions with the other elements. It is able to extinguish flames, but it is easily trapped by earthen structures, so it is strong to fire and weak to earth respectively. It is able to mix with earth for mud, and fire for steam as well.

One of the more interesting interactions is between water and electricity.
You see, even though water is neutral to lightning, it is still able to conduct it. This basically means that you can spread a lightning attack over a larger area with no alterations to the move. This could be a tool or a detriment, depending on how it is used.

Some people that I've heard of using Water style moves are Tobirama, Zabuza, Kakashi, Haku, Hashirama, and Kisame; but there are plenty of other powerful ninja that can use this element.

Oh, and by the way, my name is Trunks. I've heard a lot of stories about you Dean. It's an honor to make your acquaintance.

Dean listens to the young man make his explanation on the element. It was alright, he knew the basics of it. But Dean was going to add a bit of his own knowledge to the mix.

"That's okay, but let me add a bit. Water is one of the most versatile of the elements due to it not having a fixed form but it is free. It's an element I love using in battle because it has many uses. It can be manipulated in the form of a mist, normal water and even an oil like substance. This allows for some creativity in battle, and makes things interesting. Some forms of water can cause severe cuts while others just cause blunt damage. All depends on their shape. We'll be covering all those types of water when we go through the techniques, but first..."

Dean starts to look around in his bag he had brought with him, where he had a special piece of paper. This paper is known as chakra paper, that allows the student to channel their chakra into it and see if they have the affinity for the element.

You must be registered for see images

"Take this paper, and channel your chakra into it. When done, the paper will become wet and damp. Sit and meditate, and focus! Describe what happens as you do so, with as much detail as you can."

Dean then waits for Trunks to do as he was asked.

Trunks listens intently as his teacher speaks. After all, learning is his top priority here. He takes the chakra paper when instructed, and listens to his directions closely. Yes Sensai, I understand. Sitting in the same position as before, but with the paper in his hands, Trunks focuses on his chakra.

It feels cool, and free moving. It is flowing through my chakra systems, trickling from one part of my body to another. I can feel its power, demanding to be noticed as a force to be reckoned with. At the same time, there is a certain gentleness to it, proving to be the element of life. It forms to whatever area I pool it in, taking almost any form that I desire. I feel all of these things as I coerce the chakra down into my hands, allowing it to flow between the two.

As he finishes his words, Trunks opens his palms to reveal the chakra paper, which was now completely dampened.

Dean watched Trunks do as he was told. He was quite focused, and understood the flow of the Water element. This was good, and dean let out a slight smirk as he listened to Trunks. When Trunks opened his hand, and the chakra paper was wet, Dean knew it was time to continue. There was no problem with this guy, he wanted to learn, so that's always a plus.

"Very well done. It seems you indeed have the affinity for Water. Anyway, we will be moving to the official techniques now, but I have a method of doing things. I will explain the technique to you, then you will perform the technique, give me at least two advantages, disadvantages and how you would use that technique in battle (all in a RP manner xD ). If you have questions, be sure to ask.

Now, I believe you understand, so we can start with the first technique. First mold your Water based chakra, and then use it to create small blasts of water from your hands, or small waves on the surface of water sources by manipulating it or shields of water. Now, for a first jutsu, it's quite versatile. You can do up to three things, with or without a water source. You can use any of the three or just one against my clone to disperse him."

Dean creates a clone that runs towards Trunks.

As Dean's clone rushes Trunks' position, Trunks relaxes his body and concentrates on his chakra. He then channels his suiton chakra into his hands. By using nature and shape manipulation, he creates and fires two blast of water at the clones feet, in a hope to trip him up. He then pushes it into his arm, and creates a small water shield across his lower arm, which he uses to increase the power behind the swinging back fist that he aims for the clone's head.

There are some things that I like about this technique, and some things that I don't. I like that it is very versitile in it's design. I could attack, defend, set up another move, there are a lot of different possibilities. Also, I can use either a standing body of water or create my own, so that adds to the overall versatility. Although this technique is very versatile, it is lacking in two key areas: range and power. It lacks the total strength to make it far distances, and the power to do very much damage.

Because of this lack of power, I would use this technique mainly for defensive or supplementary purposes. For example, the shield that I created a moment ago would be great for blocking kunai or taijutsu moves, not to mention smaller fire balls. Also, if I find myself standing on or near water, I could create a large wave to distract my opponent and block their vision of me, so that I can set up something greater.

If you are satisfied with my responses, I do not believe that I have any questions, sir.

Trunks did well in his first response, and Dean was quite happy that he didn't have to add a lot more. Trunks was already a nice student, but Dean didn't show much excitement, as that wasn't his thing.

"That's good, Trunks. The shield wouldn't be strong enough to block a kunai, but against Taijutsu attacks it would be an interesting use. Anyway, not much to add, it's a basic technique with nice uses. Here is the technique you just learned."

Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points:20
Description: Creates small waves of water, small blasts, and small shields of water.
Note: Doesn't require a water source but can be used to manipulate existing water.

"Okay, now the next technique is a famous one, the Hiding in Mist technique. First, you will start off by molding your Water based chakra, and then either manipulate water from a source and form it into a thick mist or expel it in mist form from your mouth. Either method can be used, but anyway, once the mist has been formed, it fills the battlefield and its thickness depends on how chakra is put into it. This mist can block Sharingan and Rinnegan users' sight, because the mist is chakra fueled. Byakugan users can see through the mist, so use it against my clone and perform some combination attack!"

Trunks listens intently as Dean speaks. Word has it that Dean was a man of action, so if I had done or said something completely wrong, he would let me know. At the same time, if I did something well, he wouldn't let it show. Much like Father. I guess I did well then.

Trunks then watches as his Sensei creates a clone that proceeds to charge at him like before. Trunks then begins to channel his suiton chakra, and uses nature manipulation to turn it into a mist that flows from his mouth, covering the entire training ground. This thick mist is enough that even Trunks cannot see through it very well. Using his sensing abilities, Trunks pinpoints the exact position of the clone, who must be thoroughly confused at this point. Finding him with relative ease, Trunks then proceeds to channel his suiton chakra once more while sprinting to short range of the clone. Once he reaches him, Trunks uses the previous technique to release a blast of water into the clones face.

Once he completes his counter, Trunks releases the mist technique, allowing the mist to disperse and disappear. Once it does, Trunks begins to walk toward his Sensei.

I like this technique. It helps me completely leave my opponent's sight, so they wouldn't know what to expect until I counter. I also like how the thickness of the mist can be adjusted to fit the situation that I am in. However, I did notice some.. problems that I could face while using this technique. It blocks my sight too, so unless I had some assurance that my opponent would be in the area I want them, I would have no way of knowing if my attacks are effecting them or not. Next, if my opponent is a sensor type ninja, like myself, they would be able to find me the same way that I found your clone.

The obvious way to use this technique would be to use it's cover to launch a surprise attack, and that's why I would try to avoid doing that. I mean, it has to be expected, so they would be on guard for it to happen. Knowing this, I would use their lack of sight to confuse them even more. Under the veil of the mist, I would create clones of some sort, and have us all run different directions. This way, my opponent doesn't know which one is me, and which one is a distraction.

He had already gotten the gist of the training, perhaps this kid was destined to become good. Perhaps.. Dean thought as he listened to Trunks' response. It was well done, and Dean simply nodded, showing he agreed.

"Yes, the mist is indeed tricky to use, but you are lucky you have sensory, which is a nice advantage. Anyway, here is the technique you just learned."

Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

"Next technique is a useful one if you are in close quarters and you have no weapon. Mold your Water based chakra and manipulate it to form a sword in your hand that can be used as a normal sword. This sword is just like a normal one, in terms of being able to cut and stab the opponent with it, it has no special abilities, but it is useful if you don't have a weapon with you. Create this sword, and use it against my clone to stab and disperse him."

Dean creates a clone that runs towards Trunks.

As Dean's clone begins to charge at Trunks, he begins to concentrate his suiton chakra into his left hand. He holds it there while he await's the arrival of the clone. He does this because he feels like it could be bad if he were to show his hand too early. Once the clone is within short range, Trunks uses nature manipulation to convert the chakra into water, and shape manipulation to form it into a long sword. After the sword is completely formed, Trunks meets the clone head on, delivering a flurry of swings and slashes to protect himself.

Releasing his control of the sword, Trunks allows the water to fall, forming a small puddle at his feet.

This technique would be useful in getting me out of a bind. I say this because of its (assumed) speed. I'm only forming a sword and it doesn't require hand seals of any kind, so even if my opponent bests me somehow and gets in close, I will still have a defense ready. Another thing I like about this technique is the fact that I can form the sword from nothing more than my own chakra, meaning I would use this anywhere, from the wettest plains to the driest desert. This technique also has its drawbacks and limitations as well. Seeing how this is a sword with no other abilities, I could only use it in close range combat, so if my opponent is outside range, this is useless. Also, using this technique would have the same effect as using a regular sword, but it uses chakra.

Trunks turns and points his thumb to the sheathed long blade on his back.

I could just use this bad boy, and save that chakra for a later technique, although in doing that I would lose any elemental help. Having said that, I would mostly use this technique when my opponent uses a short range fire technique. This is because I could easily protect myself due to the elemental advantage.

The D ranks were always a way Dean could see if his student likes putting in effort, and Trunks was indeed doing so. Dean had already decided on his reward, and simply smirked as he threw the scroll towards Trunks.

"Well done, I liked your points. Here is the technique you just learned."

Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: A technique that utilizes water to create a sword. The sword can be wielded in the normal fashion, allowing the ninja to cut and stab like with a normal blade.
Note: Doesn't require a water source.

"Okay, now for the last D rank technique, which is yet another simple technique on its own. First, mold your Water based chakra, then hold your dominant hand outwards. Once you have done so, manipulate your Water based chakra and release it outwards, and shape it into a shield. This shield can be used to defend against projectiles and close combat techniques (like a shield was used in the old days). This shield is formed completely with your own chakra and is easy to perform. Use to block the hits from my clone, and counter attack!"

Dean creates a clone that runs towards Trunks.

Trunks catches the scroll with one hand and unravels it to skim through the specifics of the technique. It's always best to know the in and outs for certain. He quickly puts it away and turns to face Dean as he speaks. He always tries to make it a point to give his teachers his full attention when they had something to say. After hearing about the shield technique, Trunks readies himself for the clone's onslaught. As the clone advances, Trunks concentrates his suiton chakra into his arm, and then uses shape manipulation to form it into a shield. He uses the shield to block the clone's attacks, then harnesses the chakra in the shield to morph a blade that would pertrude through the shield front. He would use this blade to impale the clone with one motion.

This technique is cool, but not optimal. I like it because it stops weapons, weaker taijutsu, and other weaker techniques. Also it allows me to keep one arm free to do whatever with while I am using it, which is also a plus. The problems though, is that I have to wait until the techniques are really close to stop them, plus this wouldn't help if the technique had any sort of power behind it.

Trunks pauses again and begins to form another shield around his arm.

And when it comes to using it in battle, this creates a water source that I can manipulate with other techniques, like I did with the clone. Basically, I could make this both my sword and shield, without drawing a weapon once.

Trunks had used the last D rank technique efficiently, and he was pretty good at it. Dean smiled, as he took out a bottle of Gin and took a sip. They were now going to the C ranks of death, named this way due to their large number. Dean had gone through this list many times before, and it was as equally daunting as always. At least his student was good, that was a plus. Dean then threw the scroll towards Trunks.

"Well done, Trunks. Couldn't have done it better myself. The shield can indeed be used like that. Here is the technique that you just learned. Now for the C ranks."

Rank: D
Type: Supplementary, Defence
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will manipulate their water chakra and releasing it from their arm which is held outwards infront of them and they then create a shield of water that can aide in defence against projectile weapons and close combat techniques.

"Or wait. How about a test? Use your learned techniques to take out these evil clones! You can use any of the four techniques I taught you in a creative way. Go GO GO!!"

Dean creates three clones that dash towards Trunks.

OOC: Trying out something new xD

Trunks watches intently as Dean produces 3 clones which proceed to sprint at him with evil intent. A test, huh? Well alright, I guess it is time to show Sensei what I am made of. Dean is a nut up, or shut up, type of guy, so I will not fail him. With this Trunks concentrates his suiton chakra, and releases a thick mist out of this mouth that envelopes the area. Now that his opponents couldn't see him, Trunks senses out their chakra sources, so that he can take them down. He sprints into the mist, jumping up once he reaches the first clones position. Once he is above him, Trunks extends his arms downward with his palms open and produces a water blast into the clones face, surely causing enough blunt force trama to make the clone dissipate. He lands behind the defeated clone's position, and finds the remaining two, who are closer together than the first. He once again jumps, and as he does, he forms two water shields around both arms. This is because he knows that once he lands between them, they will know he is there and try to attack. Trunks blocks their attacks with ease, and produces swords out of his shields to impale both simultaneously. Jumping out of the mist, Trunks allows the mist to condensate and swords to fall to the earth as normal water.

Is this what you were looking for, Sensei?

OOC: Sorry for the super late reply. I broke my laptop ._.

Dean watches as Trunks used the techniques he had learned. He was doing pretty well, as he used his Sensory as an advantage too. Dean was quite impressed, and let out a smile to show Trunks that he had done well. Dean then cleared his throat as he prepared himself to talk.

"Well done Trunks. The D ranks are usually forgotten or ignored as people become more powerful. Always keep them in mind, especially at close range as they require no hand seals and can be useful at times. Now, let us move on to the dreaded C ranks that have a large amount of techniques.

The first C rank technique starts off by forming the Rat → Dog → Ox hand seals. After that, mold your Water based chakra and focus it towards your dominant hand. You will then create a whip of Water from that hand, which can be used to whip or lash the opponent. The opponent can also be binded by the whip, and then Lightning can be channeled through the whip, to the opponent, furiously shocking the opponent. A nice combination attack. If you have Lightning, then you can use that combo against my clone."

Listening closely to his Sensai's words, Trunks takes a mental note of the instructions, and turns to face the clone, which is now charging at him. Trunks quickly weaves the Rat → Dog → Ox hand seals to concentrate his suiton chakra and then channels it into his left hand (I dunno about Trunks, but I am left handed, so that is what I am going with lol). Using shape and nature manipulation, Trunks forms a whip made of water. He then quickly builds raiton chakra into the same hand, using it to form a wave of electricity, that would ride the whip, causing extra damage to whatever it touched. Trunks then uses the electro-whip to deliver several lashes to the oncoming clone, causing it to disperse.

Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Short (Short-Long depending on the water technique)
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30 (+10 to a water technique when used in conjunction)
Description: This jutsu allows the user to create a wave of electricity from the user's hands. This jutsu can vary in power from a small surge to shock an opponent to a powerful stream of lightning capable of ripping through solid rock. It is ideal to use in conjunction with a water jutsu.

Walking back to Dean's position, Trunks thinks about the techniques that he just used in detail. That is where the benefits or problems would lie after all. This one is quite useful. Not only does it allow me to launch a guided attack from a distance, but I can combine it with electricity to up it's power. This takes care of the weakness to earth from the water as well. I do, however have some concerns before I use this in combat. I know that some Cloud ninja have electric armor of sorts, and I have learned a similar technique as well. This whip allows the flow of electricity, so if they waited until the last possible second to activate that while I was trying to lash at them, it would be horrible for me. Also, it has a set range. Your clone was running at me, making the range between us smaller. If he had ran the other way, and made it out the whip's range, then it would have been for nothing.

Trunks pauses a moment, and then continues. I would use this combo when I find myself in the scenario that my opponent is near a water source. I would first use the whip as a herding tool, to get them into the water. Then I would electrocute it with a touch from the whip and ta-da. Or, I could bind an opponent that is under genjutsu, and pump them full of electricity while I have 'em.

Trunks' whip lavished with the electricity charging through it. With ease he took care of the clone, and continued to talk about the technique itself. He did quite well, and Dean started enjoying the training, cause a good student makes for some good training. Or so Dean thought. Nonetheless, the way forward was still long and the sun had just risen from behind the trees, increasing the temperature quite a bit.

"Awesome. It is one the technique I liked using as a Jounin, back in the day. Here is the technique."

Rank: C
Type: Offensive, supplementary
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: After the user performs a series of 3 hand seals Rat → Dog → Ox, the user creates a whip of water that can be used to strike the opponent with a lashing action or wrap around the target to bind them. This technique can also have lightning techniques channeled through when they have bound their victim with the water whip.

"Okay, now onto the next one. Start off by forming the Ram → Tiger hand seals in quick succession, and then focus a large amount of Water based chakra in your stomach and expel it from your mouth. Though, the water expelled from your mouth isn't just normal water, but rather a sticky based water, much like a syrup. This water can be aimed towards the opponent or the terrain, making it impossible to cross unless you want to get stuck. One could however, channel some chakra to your feet to not get stuck, so when you use it, use it smart. I once heard a story from my oldest friend, Minato, that his sensei once used this technique to make his famous kunai too heavy and made them fall to the ground. That is a creative use right there. Let's see how you do it."
