Dean makes his way towards his student, who was to be taught in Lightning. He wore his usual attire, and carried a bag with him which contained a bunch of scrolls.
"Hello there, I am Dean Winchester. I will be teaching you the element of Lightning. Now, tell me, what do you know of this element? What are its strengths and weaknesses? And who are notable users of this element?"
Dean asked. He was quite clear as to what he needed, so he simply waited for his student to answer him.

Itachi looked at his sensei and stood up. He was happy to listen to the questions as he did his homework.
Lightning is one of the 5 basic elements. Lightning is a very powerful piercing element and can paralyze the opponent or kill him. It is created by molding chakra into Raiton chakra by vibration. It has great penetration power and cuts through most of the things. It can be also used by focusing chakra in weapons and increasing its piercing power.
Lightning is strong against Doton as it breaks through it. And, lightning is weak against Fuuton or Wind as it is an insulator. Lightning can be used in combination with water as water is a good conductor of electricity (Well according to physics, pure water is not but Where in this universe can we get something pure
).
Notable users. Well, Sasuke Uchiha,(my brother), Raikage, Bee and Kakashi Hatake use lightning. And, so do I wish to.

"Very good. Lightning is quite the element, and very powerful as well. As we go through all these techniques, you'll see that Lightning is diverse as it comes in various forms. Nonetheless, show me that you are able to channel Lightning chakra. Grab this paper, and think of Lightning, in all its forms. Channel your Lightning based chakra into the paper, which would cause it to crinkle up."

Itachi takes the chakra paper in his hand and puts it between his middle and index fingers. Then, he closes his eyes and thinks of the nature of lightning. As, he thinks of the speed, light, sound and power of lightning he feels a new type of chakra in his stomach. He channels the chakra throughout the body and to the chakra paper and the paper suddenly crinkles.

Dean says, as he stretches his arms out. Now was time for the real thing.
"Alright, now, let us begin. My way of teaching is simple to follow. I will explain the technique to you, and then I want you to perform the technique, give me at least 2 advantages and disadvantages of the technique and how you would use it battle. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. This will be done with every technique I teach, yeah?
Now, for the first technique. You will start off by using your Lightning based chakra, and manipulating it with great precision. You will focus the Lightning chakra to your hands, and release outward several bolts of Lightning towards the opponent. These bolts of Lightning will cause quite some shock, and can be done with ease in close range, since it doesn't require hand seals. Use it against my clone, as a dummy, and all the other things I have outlined."

Itachi looks towards the incoming clone and then raises his right hand while holding the wrist of the right hand with the left hand. He, then channels his lightning chakra in his right hand and focuses it in his right palm. He then releases the chakra and sends out bolts of lightning towards the running clone and watches it *poof*ing as smoke.
Advantages: Shocks can paralyze the enemy. And, requires no handseal. So, it can be done fast for *Offence is the best defence* kind of defence.
Disadvantages: Range is short and jutsu is not much destructive.

Okay, I thought that was the same as performing it.
Well, in short ranges, when my enemy is running towards me, then it can be used as a defence and as offence it can be used almost anywhere but it can't have some good effects in the battle. So, really got no Idea, except for shocking and paralyzing the opponent.

Okay! Understood. And may I request you to improve my RP-ing style. If I miss out some important detail or may be I should describe something more, then please enlighten me with your knowledge.
Itachi manipulates his raiton chakra inside his body and then channels it to his right arm where he focuses the lightning chakra in his hand. Then he slams his right hand into the ground by kneeling down and keeps releasing the lightning chakra to the ground and then manipulates it towards the clone of Dean. This creates a surge of lightning that quickly flows to the feet of the clone and shocks it bad.
Advantages: Requires no handseal and opponent has to be careful as any jutsu may be used while slamming the hands in the ground. Lightning travels fast.
Disadvantages: Can be dodged easily and for performing the jutsu one cannot move from the position.
I will probably use it as a mean of direct assault or for disturbing the enemy or for interfering with the enemy who trying to perform something. This jutsu can be used against any water stream that flows on the ground and probably best for attacking opponent on water body while standing on land.

Itachi looks at the running clone and channels raiton chakra into his right hand and as soon as the clone is in short range, he sways his hand and releases the chakra in the form of a lightning wave that makes the clone vanish into thin air.
Advantages: Fast and simple
Disadvantages: Short range and can be countered easily with a wave of wind.
I will probably use this as a line of defense against stones thrown at me after I sang a song in public place. And, in short range taijutsu.

Itachi looks at the running clone and quickly performs Tiger → Snake → Dog hand seals. And then he manipulates his lightning chakra in his right hand and releases it in the form of a fast travelling electric current that turns the advancing clone into smoke.
Advantages: Long Range. Darth Vader kind of stylish action LOL. Can be used in combination with some long range water stream.
Disadvantages: Handseals for a simple jutsu. Can be easily dodged.
I will probably use it in a direct assault and long range attacks. And against any water stream.

As Dean's colne runs towards Itachi, he raises his right arms with his left leg behind and then he moves his hand in a swiping manner and releases a huge amount of lightning chakra from his hands in the form of a lightning wave. The incoming clone gets electrocuted and turns into a cloud of smoke.
Advantages: No handseals. Covers a large area in front of the user.
Disadvantages: Doesn't kill the opponent in contact although cool looking.
I will use it when I got boulders and stones thrown at me to break em up and as for offence, I will use in conjunction with water as you said, although haven't learnt water much.

My style isn't really a template, its just a guide for answering, which I hope my students would answer in RP style. If one thinks outside the box, each technique has various advantages and disadvantages, regardless of rank.

As the clone of Dean runs towards Itachi he channels Raiton chakra all over his body and then pushes it out surrounding him. He keeps increasing the volume and radius of the field. Dean's clone runs right into the field and gets a strong electric shoc, which turns him into smoke.
Advantages: Can't be understood by the opponent, Can be effective in taijutsu fights. Nice for defense against doton as covers all thedirections.
Disadvantages: If someone throws some water on me, I am dead. Can only be used for one attack.
Don't know the range.
Will use it when many opponents attack. If someone throws earth, I can keep my cool.

Then, once we are in place, I want you to form the Snake → Upside down Tiger → Hands clapped, and manipulate your Lightning chakra, to release your Lightning chakra in the form of a wave of electrical energy which would weaken the rock structure of the cliff and dislodges the rocks, making them fall on an opponent, killing him with the rubble. Use it on my clone who is standing beneath the cliff, not suspecting it."
