Definition of a Shinobi

This guy is the Definition of Shinobi. In fact it was on his death, that the special title " The Tool Named Shinobi" was made. (Chapter 32 title)

Who are you talking about? Oh, didn't see the pic at first. Yes, Shinobi are tools, sacrificing themselves for their villages and countries. However, he was a rogue ninja. Not the exact definition, but closer than others.

They don't have to sacrifice for the village or the country..to be a Shinobi. Not one definition of the Shinobi says that ;x. He was trained in the shinobi ways by his master, and protected him till the end. To him Zabuza was his country.

The definition of a shinobi is essentially someone who endures and doesnt stop in furfilling his duty no matter how hard it gets.

Haku was a great shinobi, but to me Itachi is the epitome of what it means to be a shinobi, no one has endured more than he has throughout his life.

A difference of opinion I suppose. Imo, Danzo has the purest ideas of Shinobi, and Itachi carried out those ideals more than anyone else. Haku was a criminal, but other than that, yes he is a pure Shinobi.

I dont see why Haku fits anymore than Itachi does in this case??? Haku has been helping a rogue ninja who became a mercenary and killed people for money, Haku was nothing more than a tool who gave everything he had to a ''criminal''....

Itachi ''betrayed'' his clan... and turned himself into a criminal for the sole purpose of preventing countless to die.

Haku's role had nothing ''good'' attached to it, it was just sad.

Itachi's role showcases that despite knowing that what he was doing was not totally good, it was necessary. He himself sought to be judged as he believed he deserved to be punished.

Haku was merely following someone without question.

Danzo betrayed Konoha on countless occasions. He was not loyal to the people. Being a shinobi is about loyalty to the people if your talking about "Shinobi should be loyal to the country and the village".

Also, gloomy things such as a betrayal is part of a Shinobi's job. Assassination, espionage, etc. are what actual Shinobi sign up for. If betrayal saves your village, betray your heart out. If becoming a criminal saves your village, become a criminal without question.
Itachi, Danzo, Shisui, ANBU and ROOT, are the greatest Shinobi imo.

Danzo viewed Konoha's policies as soft and worked to do away with them. A fine example of Hiruzen's... softness was inviting enemy villages to the Chunin Exmas. I'm speaking of Sunagakure.
Besides, Danzo's final moment was proof enough that he cared for Konoha.

Any ninja who died for Konoha or their country on the orders of "protecting it" is a true shinobi, that includes fodders. But by Haku all I meant was that the definition of "Shinobi" was defined by his death.

Danzo is a traitor to Konoha,basically Madara Uchiha of Hiruzen. He was always about him becoming Hokage somehow.

Itachi was used by the village, and he did this without any questions. And hence him getting praised by the god of shinobi.

Suna and Konoha had a alliance.. they did their chunnin exams together..

Dude.. he literally stated the village must be destroyed in order for him to be hokage.. during Pain arc. Danzo's final moment was his realization of how he was behind Hiruzen. And in his last moment he finally tried to do something for Konoha. Killing your villagers is against the Will Of Fire, which is the standard principal of Konoha Shinobi.
