Hello guys, I would like to debunk false claims appearing around Naruto forums that 7th Gated Gai is too fast for Rikudou Madara. Here I go

Those shapes I put in red circles are used to indicate impact in manga. Meaning, those show that Gai connected few blows with Madara's body, at least twice.

Of course there were moments where Gai made contact with Rikudou Madara's body while punching and kicking, but there is no proof that Gai landed blows on Madara instead of Madara blocking all of them while moving backwards to increase distance between themselves due to being overhelmed by Gai's taijutsu and being only able to react in time and block but no time for counter or to escape.

Exactly in my eyes it looks like Gai was attacking Madara while carging at him then Madara was blocking all of them while retreating/moving backwards because he was unable to counter attack Taijutsu assault made by Gai. Madara was unable to stop Gai but still was able to react in time to block, he was retreating/moving backwards because he felt unrelaxed and very uneasy so he wanted to create distance between himself and Gai but from picture you can easily conclude that Madara was in control over this situation, then he only got "?!" mark when Gai formed his hands in hirodura's typical handseal:

but Madara intercepted this attack splitting it in two halves right away showing his great reaction time surprassing even 7th Gated Gai:

^^ Madara was even able to move towards Maito Gai and swing his staff in his direction when Hirudoura was executed in split of seconds

Conclusion: 7th Gated Gai's taijutsu >= Rikudou Madara's taijutsu, Rikudou Madara's foot speed >= 7th Gated Gai's foot speed and 7th gated Gai's reaction time < Rikudou Madara's reaction time.

Another misconception is that Gai was able to land a hit on Madara. rofl.

Even on the last "Blow" there was no contact made from gai himself. But probably from aura around him.

Sorry but Madara didn't even try in there... lol he toyed with gai.

Yeah I know... but it is possible that Gai at least forced Madara to block his attacks.

But yeah I am aware that Madara was toying with Gain while not being serious.

Thanks ;), no I don't wear glasses but even since my childhood I had great eyes to see on bigger distance or noticing more details then other kids.

I agree that gai's moves were easily read & evaded/blocked, but you have to give gai credit for having the speed to even push madara onto the defensive.

^^Exactly what i think.

Even Naruto with kyuubi boost and "meh" taijutsu skills and speed in base was able to keep up with A and fast enough to deflect multiple bijuudamas; imagine Madara who already has high taijutsu/speed in base, in SM and jin of 10 tails.

Of course I give him a lot of credits for pushing Madara on defence.

Well but I disagree with Gai's taijutsu being easily readable, because they are far from it.
I mean it was Gai's taijutsu in 7th gate which pushed Madara on defence but Madara was still easily able to react and intercpet 7th gate Gai attacks when he stopped taijutsu's assault for moment to use hirudora.

Just after the moment Gai put his hands to perform Hirudora then Madara easily gained upper hand once again splitting hirodora attack before it was fully unleashed. Madara was even able to move forward with swinged Staff when Gai was still in place while hirudora just was released.

Thanks for feedback ;)

When you make a comparison like that then it's hard to ignore.

I see what you're saying, although to me it looked like madara was able to read the movements of gai's taijutsu as well, he just couldn't find an opening [hence him going on the defensive].

Idk what manga your reading but he did not toy with gai. granted he did not have to try that hard to defend the blows, but he was caught off guard to the point he had to block. He may not have landed a blow, but he forced madara to block. He caught him by surprise on a level to which as fast as madara is, he could not dodge. With that said Gai is more than capable of striking madara provided he surprises him.

shit thread

Exactly. Gai still beasted. but you also have to give madara credit aswell. he defended very well for someone who was surprised by his speed.
