Alot of people like to debate 1 on 1 or with teams. It would be so much easier to have this in a separate sub form.

EDIT: I believe Ira also suggested to make your own debate group via the groups function of NB. That way trolls do not infest your debates with spam or get it closed/deleted.Actually no are you are wrong and I of all people should know that considering I made that section. I hate VS threads, every fibre in my body despises them. However because people kept spamming them just for the heck of it, thinking that somehow they have to do it, I made the VS Threads section so that other people wouldn't be bothered by them anymore and the people who still wanted to make them, couldn't issue any complains as they have a sub-section only for them!
However these people didn't want to post there, so they thought they were going to be clever by having the naive and childish idea of just using other formulations instead of 'VS' like 'taking up the gauntlet', 'this character solos' etc.
So to burst these people's bubbles I made a more extensive section description, changed the name to make it more appealing and even added a prefix. Nonetheless the threads which belong there have always been exactly the same. No matter what kind of formulation you use, the contents of the thread still remains in the end the same.
It has been said before:-Members who want to debate exclusively should make a debate group and keep their debates within that group itself. There is not much point of such threads in main forums where other members can spam but cannot participate in serious discussions. It can be done in a more organized and neat way within the group.
Making a sub section in a sub forum for threads full of spam(random comments, chat , discussions about infractions and bans yada yada) with only a few genuine on topic posts, is a no go. I will be cleaning the debate section. Next time please hit the report button when threads are getting out of hand. Amount of spam in such debate threads is just too much.
Well I didn't know. This topic has been discussed before and the answer was a definite no. Please use the search function next time. If you feel you have a new approach to the idea then direct that to Caliburn via VM/PM. Have a nice day.
