1. Who do you like better Light or L?

2. Does anyone else get the impression Ryuk was the slow shinigami all the others liked to make fun of?

3. Has anyone seen the live action movie? What did you think of it? Personally I felt it was pretty bad for a 2006 movie, it felt very low budget.

Probably no, I always thought he is smarter than other shinigamis.

It was kinda Okie-dokie movie.

the movie was horrible IMO. They could've done alot better.
The cast for L, the Ryuk animation and others were OK. But Light!!??? That guy comes no close to the anime version of Light. It was the biggest disappointment.

L was an annoying character , with a terrible drug addict design who wasn't even cool looking IMO, I was a light fan & he should have won in the end , it would of been the best anime ever IMO if that had happen .

.I think everyone was a douche to everyone .

.I haven't seen it , those live adaptations usually suck , a friend told me he loved it but i heard others saying they hated , so i guess it depends .

*I liked Light better, he WAS the main character. Plus he was badass lol
*No he wasn't slow, he was smarter than the other shinigamis since he was able to fool the other shinigami to get another death note.
*Haven't seen it yet, so can't give an opinion.

Idk Ryuk just came across as kind of dumb to me, still a good character just not that smart. Rem seemed smarter because he didn't display any of those goofy traits Ryuk did i.e the apples or the withdrawls. Also there was a part now I can't remember exactly but either Misa or Rem was explaining something to Light and he asked Ryuk why he never told him about it and Ryuk said he didn't know about it. All that plus those eyes just gave off the impression he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Personally I though L was a better character, Light has virtually nothing memorable about him despite him being the main character. He has no habits or mannerisms that are lasting he has no unique appearance that makes him memorable. L with all his quirks was a much more memorable character to me.

I think Ryuk dos not have many friends.

This side of me likes Light Yagami better , but my other side prefers L .

Ryuk and the other shinigami seem to just do their thing whatever it is. Not stupid at all , just doesn't know some things , but how do you know before you find out . He didn't seek to know all the rules because he didn't care.

I've seen some of and probably most of the movie , but it came out before the anime did so I don't hate it.

Light was an arrogant douche with a God complex. I don't understand why people liked him.

Ryuk was playful, not stupid. He was creepy though. I feel like I need to add that. LOL

I've never seen the movie.

I personally liked L better.

I thought Ryuk was kinda funny and immature, but he isn't exactly slow nor stupid. As for the movies, never seen them, nor do I intend to.

3. Not even a challenge for the anime. L's actor did do pretty well, though.

They are both awesome, though I was cheering for Light, his ideals were logical, and if he was willing to go as far as to sacrifice himself to achieve them, he would of have succeeded. One reason why I prefer CG over DN.
