this is my first attempt at trying to write a horror/thriller story. this is just one chapter. there will possibly be 3 or 4 more. i was working on the second one but my laptop crashed because it's a used one and sucks. please be gentle haha and i hope you enjoy it
This story tells of the unexplained murder of Irwin, which after 4 years still has no lead.
Irwin was a man who has had unfortunate luck in life. From alcohol and drug abuse to not being able to visit his son. But, one day Irwin had had enough of his empty life and decided to make an effort and get back on his feet with a trip to a treatment center for his drug issues. He had been clean and sober and was making great progress with his ex-girlfriend and getting closer to his son.
One night, Irwin was at home filming himself playing classic video games from the SNES which he would then upload on to youtube to share with his subscribers. He got up to get himself a drink and as he was returning to his living room he peaked out his window and out in the dark he saw a silhouette of a large man standing on the sidewalk. he thought nothing of it and continued with his video
It was getting late so Irwin decided to finish up with what he was doing and get ready for sleep, when suddenly he heard a gentle knock on his front door. He went to the door and peered through the peak hole on his door and had asked what the man on the other end wanted. The mysterious man replied "the phone, i need to use your phone". The tone of the mans voice gave Irwin an unsettling and nervous feeling and then replied "i'm sorry bud, i can't help you.." the man banged the door with a hammer fist and insisted once more "the phone, i need to use your phone now!!". Irwin stepped away from the door slowly and threatened to call the police if the man doesn't leave. It went quiet, all you could hear were the foot steps of the man walking away.
The incident had gotten to Irwin and got him feeling uneasy. He walked over to the same window and peaked out to see if the man had left the area, he was nowhere to be seen. His phone went off as he got a text from his ex saying they will be in town the following week to pay him a visit. This made Irwin smile, as he was replying he heard the door knob in the back room being shaken as if someone were trying to force their way in. He threw his cell phone on the couch and rushed to the back door, grabbing his bat on the way and yelling "back away from the ****ing door or i'll smash your ****ing teeth out". He hit the lights but the intruder had disappeared before the lights could touch him. He heard the rustling in the hedges from someone running through.
Irwin picked up his home phone which was by the fridge and dialed 9-1-1 to report the incident. The operator answered the phone and replied "9-1-1 what is your emergency?" Irwin replied "someone just tried forcing their way into my house" operator replies "did you get a look at the intruder?" Irwin, "no, he got away before i could turn on the lights" operator "is he still in the area", Irwin says "im not sure, it's dark out there, he could be" the operator assures Irwin and says " okay, sir, lock your door, im sending someone to investigate the area and will check in on you" Irwin thanks the operator and hangs up the phone. He checks on all the window making sure that they are all locked.
20 minutes has passed and he remembers he forgot to reply to his ex's text. He walks to the living room when suddenly theres a knock on his door. It was the police, he opens the door and the officer says "we have caught the individual and is in our custody, we found him a block away but he didnt attempt to run and argued that he wasnt the man we were looking for, but we'll take him in to be sure", Irwin thanks the officers for their help and shakes their hands. He closed the door and locked it, putting the bat in his hands back in the closet.
He goes to pick up his phone from the couch and begins to reply when suddenly he feels the warmth of someones breath on the back of his neck. It grabs Irwin and whispers in his ear, in the same voice as before, "I am fear, I am death, no escape but.......death" followed with an eerie giggle. Irwins screams could be heard from outside the house, but there was no soul around to hear the painful screams.
3 days had passed and Irwins ex had become worried and called the police to check on Irwins house. She got her wish and police went to go check on the house. The door was locked and had to be forced open. What the police saw as they walked in was something they had never seen before. Irwin was nailed to the wall in a crucifix position with his tongue and eye balls ripped out, needles in each arm, floor covered in blood and his throat slit from ear to ear. The cops quickly looked away. One of them saw a video camera on the floor, close to the crime scene. He picks it up and sees that it has low battery life, he hits the rewind button to see if it was captured on camera. He stops it and sees Irwin talking to the police at the door, he rewinds it and closely inspects the background and sees a mysterious figure slowly walking towards Irwin. It is footage of what had happened after the police had left
As the mysterious figure was done he glances towards the camera and in a strange manner, slowly walks towards it and picks it up. It films Irwin's corpse hanging on the wall and turns it on itself. It begins to smile with a crazed look in its eye and repeats itself " I am fear, I am death, no escape but death. 3 more, 3 more to go" followed with the same giggle heard on the camera. The camera's dropped to the floor, it captures the feet of the figure walking towards the door, it begins to laugh loudly saying "3 more to go"
