Hey guys,
This is just a story sequence for a youtube vid my firends and I want to film in live action. Just wanted to get two fantasy characters with diverse skill sets to battle it out. i wanted the characters to be somewhat even so I chose Kakashi from the Chunnin Exam story arch. A later Version of him would be unfair lol. Feedback back on what you would keep, change, or simply who you want to win would be really appreciated.
Link vs Kakashi
Scene opens with Link playing a tune on his ocarina in a woodland meadow…..
Navi grabs Link attention with a very audible, "HEY! LISTEN!!!" Navi goes from a hovering standstill to a frantic zig-zag through air as Link gathers himself in time to see a kunai knife streak past him slamming into Navi and pinning the annoying little ball of fairy fire to a tree. Navi's light grows dim.
Three more shuriken come spinning from the tree line. Two are batted away harmlessly to the side but one gets through Link’s guard cutting a line of blood across his brow. Link's gaze shoots out to the edge of the woods trying to discern where the attack came from. In the blink of an eye Kakashi appears with a kunai knife to Link's throat. Instead of just doing the deed Kakashi lets out some wise words of wisdom, “Focusing too far in front of you will leave your back exposed…”
Link makes an imperceptible movement of his hand into his pouch grabbing a deku seed and then dropping it. When the nut makes contact with the ground….
Crack!!!
The deku nut creates a small flash giving Link the distraction he needed to slip under Kakashi's knife point and launch into a spinning sword attack. Link throws all his strength into the move yelling his iconic “Hyahhhhhhh!!!!” in exertion.
He feels the sword bite into and then slice through his adversary and stops his rotation. Kakashi is halved on the ground seemingly dead. Link lets out a sigh and begins to sheath his sword until a sudden
pOOFff!
The smoke clears and lying on the ground where Kakashi's corpse should be is a log cut cleanly in two. A few yards behind the smoke stands Kakashi (his hand band no longer covering half his face since he used the sharingan to compensate for his other eye being blinded in the moment Link used the flash caused by the nut).
The two are now facing off, Kakashi is running circling around Link (characteristically of the show), sizing him up. Link holds his ground waiting to counter whatever comes next. After a moment Kakashi stops and planting his feet his hands flash into motion weaving hand signs.
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!!"
Flames erupt from Kakashi shooting out at Link who is sprinting in. Link grinds to a halt, crouching down he uses his Hylian shield to protect himself from being engulfed by the inferno. Kakashi keeps up the jutsu unrelenting. Link reaches behind his back and with a flick of his wrist throws something out to the side. The shield is getting unbearably hot and Link grits his teeth as the hot steel begins to sear into the flesh of his forearm. The boomerang he let loose before goes through its ark, shooting back around now on a flight path for Kakashi's head. Kakashi of the Sharingan will not caught off guard so easily.
His sharingan caught the movement before when Link’s hand made the throwing motion and as the boomerang is just about to hit its mark….. Kakashi cuts off the fire style jutsu. Quickly snapping his head back in the nick of time as the boomerang flies overhead but dangerously close to his face; it whips by.
Link uses the opening to his advantage, dropping his smoldering shield he does a forward role to close the distance, sweeping his master sword to the sky with the intent to cut the distracted Jounin from naval to head. Kakashi desperately side steps that lethal cut, but in the second it takes him to reset his feet in a counter stance, Link uses the upward momentum of his strike twisting around and launching a kick that hits Kakashi squarely in the back of the knee.
Kakashi’s knee buckles under the force of the kick and a shooting pain races up along his leg. Scrambling back shakily on his battered leg he goes on the defensive trying to buy time needed to recover.
Seeing he has the enemy hurt Link rushes forward intending to finish the fight here and now while he still has the advantage. He launches a barrage of sword slashes, redoubling his efforts striking at every perceptible angle, waiting for his sword to find its mark through the injured assassin’s defenses.
Link’s series of attacks would have fell any other lesser foe, but Hatake Kakashi is a seasoned ninja and no stranger to fighting impaired…..
As soon as Kakashi was kicked his kunai was already out putting up his primary guard. He reached deep within channeling his chakra into his Sharingan as he back peddled. Using the Sharingan he began to read Link’s sword routine. Steel on steel rang out as Kunai parried Master sword. Kakashi’s situation was desperate but he remained calm and picked his battles; redirecting the stabs that posed a lethal threat and allowing the others passed his guard to leave superficial wounds.
Link began to close in as Kakashi used his one good leg to dance back and parry. One sword attack after another knifed in racking his opponent with cuts, but none with the angle to wound him mortally. The swiftness of the masked man’s reaction time was incredible. Hurt leg or not the veteran shinobi was managing the situation and managing it well. Realizing the situation would turn south if he exhausted himself Link let up his barrage. Instead continuing to pressure in thrusting his sword not at Kakashi’s body, but in a manner to direct the masked man’s direction.
Kakashi was gaining back the control of his feet underneath him and the pain in his leg had nearly subsided. Still, he was being pushed back is only saving grace being the visual prowess needed to predict Link’s attacks that the Uchiha eye afforded him. His opponent’s sword stance had changed now using controlled swipes to angle him backwards still, “but why?” Kakashi thought… To continue this attack would give neither an edge. In fact, another minute of this and the green cloaked ranger would grow tired and he could launch his counter offensive. “That’s it!!”
Link relentlessly continued to come forward with his sword and sparks flew. He’d been routing his opponent cleverly backing him towards the edge of the pond. If he could force the man in black into the shallow waters it would slow up his footwork enough that his miraculous reaction time would count for nothing. Then, a lethal opening would be imminent. Then, he would be able land the lethal blow necessary to end the fight. His arms were screaming with exhaustion but he could not let up now…..he was almost there….the time was almost right……
However, Kakashi’s situational awareness had already clued him in to the swordsmen’s plan. He tactfully began to prepare himself focusing the chakra in his feet and forming the hand signals in his mind needed to use that “certain jutsu” ….
Link’s eyes dart down for the briefest instant to see Kakashi’s foot begin to tread back out over the water waiting for him to soon be ankle deep in the water, but just as the shinobi’s heel should have broken the crest of the water………… To be continued.
