Well, we're growing bones, not spiked bones lol. The bone is generally straight and sharp at the end, great for slashing and cutting ofc. Now, the next few come from video games and are generally easy to understand and perform. They all are based on the above two close ranged "Dances", growing a sword (or already having one out) and performing several strikes. Questions on any?

(Asami no Mai) – Dance of the Beautiful Linen

(Sawara no Mai) – Dance of the Cypress

Chakra cost: 25
Damage points: 40
Description: The user repeatedly attacks the enemy alternating attacks between their sword and knee bone.

(Hiiragi no Mai) – Dance of the Holy
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 25
Damage points: 40
Description: The user advances at the enemy with their bone sword spinning rapidly like a drill and strikes them rapidly in multiple places.

(Keyaki no Mai) – Dance of the Zelkova
Rank: B
Type: Offensive

Description: The user Knocks the opponent into the air and then appears above them before extending a large number of spikes from their arm to stab the opponent.
Nope they seem pretty straight forward

(Hasagurama no Mai) – Dance of the Hasagurama
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 35
Damage points: 60
Description: The user appears above the enemy, extending his bones and spins downwards like a giant drill to rip through the opponent’s skull.

(Genji Dansu) – Genji Dance
Rank: A
Type: Attack
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 35
Damage points: 60
Description: The user slashes the opponent with their bone blades and then shoots numerous finger bullets at them and finishes off the opponent by jumping into the air and releasing numerous bones from their back.

(Susuki no Mai) – Dance of the Bell Tree

Once more, similar setup, these are all for the most part derived from the first two Dances. Pretty straightforward in execution and usage, though I must point out Genji Dance notably. Have you seen it performed before? It is from a game.

The range of it says "Mid" but that's what I wanted to bring up. As you can see by the description, you clearly can see that you need to be close for it to work. When you strike them into the air, and appear and release the massive amounts of bones, it almost covers the complete mid range radius with bones, hence the range.

Oh I see, I was abit skeptical as to why it was mid ranged but now that you say it I understand now

(Karamatsu no Mai) - Dance of the Larch
Rank: B
Type: Defence/Attack
Chakra Cost: 25
Damage Points: 40
Description: Karamatsu no Mai is the third of the five Kaguya dance forms. The User creates a mass of razor-sharp bone spikes all over their body. The user can grow these bones at an extremely rapid rate so they can stab an opponent even as the bones are growing. Since the Bones are harder than steel, they can be used defensively to block or trap an opponent's strikes.
This technique is a great surprise attack and it makes the user basically untouchable at close range. When an opponent is close to the user, they spin very fast, rapidly slashing the foe in multiple areas of their body.

Okay, so how do you think this works?

Well juginf based on how the move was shown in the anime, I think it wowkrs in way that the user channels chakra into specific bones mainly along the rib cgae, arms and legs, to create and extending using the kekkai genkai to create a large sum of sharp bones along the surface of the user. The bones are strong enough to withstand most lower ranking taijutsu and is quite fast to use making it very dangerous and useful for a surprise attack.

Sorry , but being Spanglish makes my typing crappy at times.

*Being told what to do, Yoro channels his chakra into his bones again, and this time unlike the others, he forms and expands the bones from under his skin, having them come out and sproute outward still connected to his body, he then spins at high speeds and slashses the clones with the many bones from his body

Well considering the amount of bones, id use them if dotn have not other weapons on me, and use them as my own form of armor. They can be used to defend from solid techniques due to the near 360 degree sprouting of the bones and the formation. Counter attacks are great with it due to the sheer speed that they can catch the target when unexpected. Another would be when using earth techniues, it can penatrait the soles of the shoes and burrow into the ground, giving a proper stability to the user

Pretty good actually, thats more or less what it's good for xD

(Tessenka no Mai Tsuru) - Dance of the Clematis Vine
Rank: A
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 35
Damage Points: 60
Description: The First half of Tessenka No Mai, the fourth of the five Kaguya Dance Forms. User removes their spinal column from their back to create a flexible yet extremely sharp bone vine. Because the vine is flexible, it can wrap itself around an opponent to rip them to pieces.

(Tessenka no Mai Hana) - Dance of the Clematis Flower
Rank: A
Type: Attack
Chakra Cost: 35
Damage Points: 60
Description: The follow up to Tessenka no Mai Tsuru (Dance of the Clematis Vine). Using this technique (Flower) the user forms a large spiral shaped bone spear which he can use to pierce any shield his opponent raises. The spear is said to be nearly indestructible.

Alright, so this is a two part attack. How do you think each part works separately and together?

Well, with Vine, it uses the spinal cords structure as a medium to create a hand whip so to speak. The whip is broken into segments, and when moving, due to the malleable cotlege on the in side of the whip, it can bend and wrap round targets, as seen when Kimmaro took his own im sure it had spikes on eacg on which he formed due to his kg. Its very good for a reaching technique cause it can wrap around objects. Can also whip it at projectiles to bat the away. Now with Flower, it grows out the bones from the arms, and twist to form a spear. Its very powerful really, as it can be used to piercing through attacks. One let down is it slows the user down due to the weight and size of the spear. Now together, the at like a sword and shield. Both act as a defense , but can work on offense. The spear is enough to block attacks, and using the whip, the user can attack from suprise with little effort

Well to be straight forward, ill go like this;

When it comes to Vine, I can use this to counter lightning techniques that are unfocused, due to the lack of slicing power within them. This is a good example vs moves like Chidori Senbon. When it comes to focused lighting, Id say I won’t go to the attack itself, but due to the bones reach, I can use it as a sort of Decoy in order to get away. Flower on the other hand can provide a more valid defense then offense, as it can work the same why to Whip. This main due to bones being nonconductive. In terms of the strengths , Water and Earth. I use whip more or less simply to wrap and try to crack through earth release techniques. Same goes for flower, except id pierce into the attacks. Wind is simple the same as earth and water , as I doubt solid wind can slash through bones. Water is a problem is used around me but I think id still be able to rip through it with my bones.

Good.

Now, the creme dela creme.

(Sawarabi no Mai) - Dance of the Young Ferns
Rank: S
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 45
Damage Points: 80
Description: Sawarabi no Mai is the fifth and last of the five Kaguya dance forms. The User causes a giant forest of tall sharp bone spikes to burst up from the ground covering the entire field. While active, the user can merge themselves into the bone trees at will to attack their target from whichever spike they want.

Evaluate this one in detail.

Detail huh? Well this justu is the only cannon Shikotsumyako technique that is used in the form of ninjutsu. This is created by the user either slamming his hands on the ground (shown in games) or by simply having contact with the ground. The user will rapidly ground mass amounts of bone in the area, digging and penetrating from under the ground, creating a forest of bones. Thought they may not seen as active the user has complete control over them evern after releasing them, able to merge and unmerge from them.

I assume the bones are linked, making it that if the target for example uses a pulsing chakra, Sound for example, the user can be affected by it still, depending on the range of the jutsu of course. Other then that this justu covers a large area of the battle zone, and can be used to counter lots of overused jutsu like swamp of the under world etc.

Also I assume of someone is on the ground and is caught in the creation of the jutsu, they wil be crushed or stabbed?
