So do you think that you analyzing the anime will make people say it's good despite them not liking it before? No. You can analyze it all you want. Still won't change a person's opinion in the slightest. Like I said, people care about what appeals to them, not how an anime may seem from a couple of analytical perspectives, whether it's a literary standpoint, the greatness of characters or even the morals and themes established in the anime. If it doesn't appeal the the individual, the individual won't scare and probably won't like it. So you can call my logic flawed all you like but it still stands. To a person who isn't a fan, they won't give two shits about your analysis of the anime.

The point is not changing people's opinion. I don't want people to like dbz, or anything.

However, you disliking something isn't an excuse to say it has a bad quality simply becuae that's your opinions. Differently from taste, quality can be discussed about, and thus, can be be stablizied in a parameter when one pulls enough arguments to do so.

If no one can disprove a debater, they accept it, even if they don't agree.
Opinions are irrelevant in order to stablish patterns and facts. Opinions are simply random ideas that people have. They can be disproved, they can be mistaken.

He clearly said that he doesn't like OP. That's ok. However, he didn't say it sucks simply because he doesn't like it and it's his opinion.

I'm completely aware of all that. My only point I was trying to make was that your thread is futile cause it's not changing anyone's opinion. Don't know why you started assuming that I was saying opinions can't be wrong, I'm pretty much saying that whether that opinion is wrong or not, everyone is entitled to it. People are allowed to have their opinions. What they can't do is usetheir opinions and tastes ONLY to say that something's quality is bad/good.
I'm here to use a little bit of arguments to disprove some statements I've seen.

My point is not changing people's opinion. My point is to debate. If they are not adults enough to accept it(they don't have to agree, but accep that, for the momment, they don't have argumentos to disprove a statement), then the only thing I can say is that such behavior is a pity, but I don't care. My point was proven(so far), and then, my "mission" was accomplished.

I thought it was the best anime ever... Until I got into Naruto.
Now that I look back the plot and story line is indeed week and poorly developed. I'll always have love for DBZ doe!

Alright here is the thing. When people say,"DBZ is shit",they don't mean it's not entertaining,it's one hell of an entertainment to me no matter how many times I watch it,but because it has poor and repetitive plot story,one dimensional characters,it isn't their taste,etc. compared to other mainstream series running nowadays. They mainly compare it with some other title.

Cons Of DBZ :-

1) The biggest flaw of DBZ: Lack of permanence. When DBZ characters die, you literally don't feel anything because they are going to be revived by the next arc. It's laughable that Krillin died four times and was revived four times. In the end, you are not able to connect with the deaths of characters due to the lack of permanence of Death.

2) Lack Of Characterisation : Except the four characters mentioned in the OP and the current villains, you always get a feeling that the story always revolves around Goku which makes the other characters irrelevant. The other characters don't have the time to shine, they are just there in the story and are practically useless to the plot. Ex :- Yamcha, Krillin, Bulma, etc (Esp. Majin Buu Arc).

3) One-Goal Villains: This is not a flaw per se, but is actually a flaw created due to the age of the manga. You see that the Villains always have a single goal in their mind and are obsessed with it. This creates a rigid villain who really don't have other goals. The only Villain that breaks out of this stereotype is Majin Buu as he sees the good in Humanity.

The Pros are many and not worth mentioning and are many.

In the end, DBZ is an awesome Manga for beginners who have just entered the world of Mangas. But once, you have read many mangas and gained experience, you can count many mangas which are far superior than DBZ.

DBZ is one great childhood thing. Yeah it has flaws, but tbh i still don't care.
It gave me such entertaining, great characters and made me get into Anime/Manga and that's why it will be one of my most favorites ever. That's the main reason why people love it, since it will always be legendary.

So i seriously don't give a shit about some people hating it. They have their opinion and i have mine.

also the plot has to be taken into consideration as its a story not a character biography
