okay when cell got hit by gokus instant kamehameha and half of his body blew up he regenerated and became weaker.
yet when cell blows him self up against gohan he regenerates and comes back stronger.

am i missing something here?

thats it, when vageta was fighting freiza he told crillin to blast him so dende could heal him. what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

You didn't read what he wrote. At first he became weaker after being hit by Goku's Kamehameha, but the 2nd time around he got stronger. It's a contradiction lol

When cell lost half his body from gokus kamehameha he wasn't in danger of losing his life nor was he near death, that's why he just regenerated back, he knew he was going to be ok. When he blew himself up, he was in serious danger of actually dieing and that's when the saiyan genes kicked in.

then when goku instant transmissioned in front of him with the kamehameha cell was like
"NOOOOOOO"

really though, just the thumb nail of the video shows how scared he was lol

Even during the fight with Goku and Gohan Cell did not realize how powerful his regeneration ability was thats why he was so suprised when he didnt die from selfdestructing which did put him at extreme risk of death I believe only laeaving a single cell alive but I havent watched the show for some time especially the cell saga. Sayian DNA kicked in at that time making him stronger. When he was hit with instant Kamehameha he only lost part of his body and was not truly in danger of death Nemekian DNA activated to instantly regenerate his body when this happens Nameks lose some power I believe temporarily. In short not even Cell knew his full potential at the time.

First off great question. Being one of the biggest DBZ fans ever, owning all the Dragonball, Dragonball Z, DragonBall GT and all the movies on Dvd.

The reason he didn't get stronger is because he is such a tough S.O.B. It takes a lot more to kill him and put him on death's door. Having Piccolo's regenerative powers makes this possible.

Remember when Piccolo had his arm ripped off and it was no big deal to him. It may have hurt like hell but he wasn't worried about it because growing parts of his body back was no big deal and he was in no danger of dying.

Now, once cell was completely vaporized by Gohan, except for a few cells, he was basically dead. So when he did regenerate this time his Saiyan genes kicked in and wallah!! Whatcha think?

I always thought it was because cell gained some of goku's cells in the explosion which would make him alot stronger... also this would explain how he got instant transmission.

We call that a cerebral move. He knew he'd regen from gokus attack, he was making goku put his guard down.
