well it's an action show, so if you take the main thing out than of course it's going to be bad. just like if you would take comedy out of a comedy show.

In naruto and other animes countless episodes are spent developing the main characters and the villains and how they became the villain. I mean all of naruto is about how Sasuke grows into a villain. DBZ is just a very simplistic anime.Only thing going to DBZ was the action. Im just saiyin (lol see wat I did there)...

Also its probably not THE worst one out there cuz there's lots of animes and probably really bad ones that no ones even see but it definitely isn't one of the good ones.

Ok stop telling me about how Kishi got inspiration for Naruto from DBZ I know this already and I knew it before I made the thread. Doesn't change these facts:

FACT: DBZ has weak plot. If a 5 year old can grasp the plot then its not a very deep and meaningful plot.
FACT: DBZ is repetitive. I can sum up every saga of DBZ in about one paragraph which i will do down below.
FACT: DBZ villains and heroes depth ( they are either good or bad) no gray areas. The only exception to this was Vegeta who started out all bad then became good
FACT: DBZ fights were drawn out and boring, just raw power VS raw power no strategies involved at all?
FACT: you DBZ fanboys are just letting nostalgia take over your emotions. Stop getting your panties in a twist

Here is every DBZ saga in a nutshell

Scene of Goku and his friends all happy and relaxed. OH NO! enter powerful alien headed to earth. TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN. finally after a month of episodes villian reaches destination. Good guys fight villian. Villain transforms into different form. Pwns heroes. Everyone lies on ground waiting for Goku to come save them. Goku arrives. Kicks ass. Villian transforms AGAIN. Kicks gokus ass. Goku turns super saiyan and kicks ass. Oh look ANOTHER F-ing transformation. Fight drags on. Both Goku and Villian pretty beat up; Goku finished day with Spirit bomb. Everyone uses dragonballs to irreverse every bad thing that happened. Then Scene of Goku and his friends all happy and relaxed. OH NO! enter powerful alien headed to earth. REPEAT

I agree with the points you are telling us, the story is crap, it makes no sense blabla, BUT! Non the less, it was interessting enough to get your attention and go watch it. Isnt that the deffinition of a good serie lol? That it gives you the feeling that you want to watch the entire freaking anime till the bitter end? Cuz DBZ gave that feeling to everybody including you. :p DBZ is a great anime and very entertaining but it just has no depth in what so ever..

i like both of naruto and DBZ. i wont deny that plot of naruto may seems better. but it's just normal and it have to be, because DBZ was created long time ago before naruto. and it's perfectly normal if naruto learns from DBZ success, and try to make a better plot. its just silly to compare both, just like comparing isaac newton's postulate with albert einstein's.. of course einstein have learn mistakes that newton has and create better..
it would be more fair if u compare animes in the same/ similar/ around time line..
anyway, both anime rocksss..

according to researchs[google if u doubt but patiently] insulters are more prone to be abused in childhood or they saw their mother prostitue or are illegitimated children

Repetitive: Are you implying that the plot shouldn't be about beating the enemy? Look at Naruto once again. It's about revitalizing friendships and beating enemies...

Villains and heroes depth: Notice that the villains how enough power to actually destroy worlds. DBZ is like a comic, it has that gritty entertainment value that doesn't need to go in depth to be good. It's about friendship and people don't want to fight but they have to. Goku has a lot of depth as a character, he never wants to kill (like Batman) but he's forced to because his enemies are only out there to kill.

Fights: Fights were about raw power. Strategy was barely used because they didn't need to rely on strategy. However, tactics were used, not strategies. Tactics are smaller than strategies.

Apparent Nostalgia: I hope you know that a lot of people have just seen DBZ a year or two ago? It's just possible that they actually enjoy the show for its entertainment value, not "depth" or "artistic deep metaphorical qualities".

And your scene thing at the end was not needed. Seeing as that's only the broad picture of the sagas. You know, sagas, where you go through something. Like with DBZ how sagas are about beating enemies....

Don't even try to debate the depth of Naruto characters. This apparent "depth" is just a few episodes of their crybaby past that people try to wield as an argument when really it's just to flesh out characters. Ever heard of Dragonball? Giving massive backstories to characters like Goku and Bulma?

I can agree with you that the storylines are a bit repetitive but I believe it was on purpose.

A valid counter argument? You pretty much agreed with everything I said in the original post but that you liked those things. You agreed with the fact that it is repetitive, it has a simplistic story line meant for children and that the fights were just raw power VS raw power. All these are reasons why DBZ should not be considered as great an anime as it is.
It is the same old good VS evil story line that is used in almost every cartoon around. Too black and white. And if thats how it was meant to be then it was never meant to be great just entertaining but not great. Doesn't have the deep moral and ethical issues that great animes such as Death Note or Code Geass possess. Animes that actually warrant a mature rating.

Worst plot ever. Agreed. Not as much in depth character development. Agreed. Repetitive. Agreed. However, does that not change the fact that most people agree that the fights are >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> better than Naruto. And that is more important than the rest. Dbz is just the best anime. The impact it had in the world is just to great.
