DBZ one of worst animes ever

Kishi added more depth to his characters because he is improving on the ideas he learnt from DBZ (among other animes)...in effect he is learning from the past and improving the future.

DBZ = Legend...I still rewatch it from time to time as it's just full of awesome. You'd be better off saying that you *prefer* naruto over DBZ, rather than saying naruto is *better* than dbz, it sounds completely idiotic.

Sorry dude, I have to disagree. DBZ is one of the all time best anime's EVER!
And I'm sure Kishi would feel the same since he was influenced by DBZ to create Naruto.
Yeah sure there were episodes of DBZ where a fight would take like 20 episodes (i.e. Goku VS Frieza) but they were still awesome.
DB was also epic, but sadly I can't say the same for DBGT.
GT just couldn't cut it and I'm sorry but I don't like how it all ended and could have been done a whole lot better.
But I'm getting off track here, so I'll leave you with a few things.

I agree, you guys give DBZ too much credit, saying that without it there would be no anime such as Naruto? Come on as if you believe that, there would still be lots of good anime and manga around even if DBZ never came along, it is only over hyped because it was the first anime to be so popular but like that matters, people still had no idea what anime was they just thought it was a cartoon. Just because DBZ was one of the first anime to be popular around the world doesn't mean it inspired EVERY other action anime out there today. If you are going to compare the two anime then compare them properly. Even though I LOVED IT, there are some episodes that are SLOW as hell, I remember Goku talking for like 3 episodes, making a genkidama. Some are PLAIN awesome.

That is true and probably my only complaint about the series but if you think about it that was their way of doing fillers. But it is still the first major anime to hit US shores not counting Akira and other movies. But I remember when I first seen the show and they would just repeat the first like 60 something episodes for a couple of years. Then they finally started back up with the Frieza Saga and it was epic Goku going SSJ for the first time is probably the best memory I have of any anime ever and will stick with me for the rest of my life. I am hoping that Naruto's transformation merging with the 9tails for real will be epic and just as memorable.

he took too many thing for dbz and gt and he put them in naruto and shippuden like
when naruto is in sagemode the boundries of his eyes become golden and orange,in dbgt when goku and vegete became ssj 4 their eyes become black

Kishi himself stated that DBZ influenced him heavily in creating Naruto and still influences.

Naruto is kind hearted, will do anything for a friend including die, he is comical at times, he will be the strongest character(if not already), etc(I could go on) all like Goku.

mmm iono bout that the DBZ character were wayyy too overpowered and some of the fights were just dragged out way to long with two kamemehas blasting at each other for 2 or more episodes.

DBZ is just raw power VS raw power, naruto uses strategy in their fights which makes them much more enjoyable.

I say Naruto>DBZ in fights as well

It was nice to see some strategy besides just punches and kicks for six episodes.

So I used to watch DBZ when I was younger and thought it was the best thing ever(who on here didnt); but looking back I realize its probably one of the worst animes ever made. Horrible story line and no character development whatsoever.

I mean practically all the main villains (frieza, buu, etc..) had no motive and just wanted to destroy the world just because. No depth to any of the characters, no backstory on the villains everything is just black and white. Either evil or good.

In naruto and other animes countless episodes are spent developing the main characters and the villains and how they became the villain. I mean all of naruto is about how Sasuke grows into a villain. DBZ is just a very simplistic anime.Only thing going to DBZ was the action. Im just saiyin (lol see wat I did there)...

Despite what you say, DBZ in fact did influence Naruto among other popular animes such as Bleach. An old anime such as DBZ has served as a stepping stone. It's quite obvious that a newer anime like Naruto would seem more developed. Kishi has taken aspects from DBZ and improved them in his own way.

There's no denying that in DBZ's infancy, it was the best anime around at that time. It's only natural for anime to improve over time, I'm sure if DBZ sat back and incorporated aspects from other animes up until this point, it would seem much more developed as well.

DBZ was hte anime that made mainstream america aware of anime. The two aren't even the same. Naruto has to develop it's characters cos that's what the story is about. DBZ is the classical story of good vs. evil. It doesnt call for all the details and stuff because at the end of the day evil is evil and it must be stopped.
