i agree that at some points there really was no plot and the characters were just baout beating up people. but i wont lie dbz was a great anime. how could you not think that it is just interesting with all the planet explosions and new super saiyans it was just like watching a constant action film. sure its didnt have a decent plot in After DB at times but it still was great.

Rebecca Black: Who thinks she is great? And she's a ****in 14 year old girl who made a video that some comedian got a hold of and decided to make a deal out of it which made her known. Dragon ball is a legend among anime. It didn't had to have any reason to be good, it just was. I've seen some of the best anime's out there but I still don't get the same feeling I had when I was watching Dragon Ball. That's all it matters to me.

Listen candy-ass. I havent posted here for some time cause i dont have anymore that much free time. Although i check the site for news and updates whenever i can. So in one of my browsing session i ran into ur thread. Here is my opinion. First of all if u are trolling and think that by flaming around with threads like this u are funny then NOOOOO; you arent. If u are serious about this thread then clearly there is something wrong with you. A) you are clueless B) u are just plain stupid ( we cant blame mother nature for its creations can we? ). it's not THE WORST anime EVER but it doe's suck, the story is horrible the fighting is repetitive and it make's no sense at all for all of those boss's to come to one planet all the time when it's multi-planets in the series. plus goku is the only character that's strong? that's boring to watch one guy all the time while the other's die. and the movie's are even more stupid. but I've seen way worst but in the most worst ranking dbz is like top 5 but the first db was pretty cool and not forced on the fans like dbz was the manga is terrible omg the anime was better by far.

Dude that's like saying transformers was bad. DBZ didnt need characters with a lot of depth. The ongoing Vegeta vs Goku frienemy concept throughout was depth enough. DBZ opened the door for Naruto. R.I.P Toonami
Frieza was born into one of the most powerful war lord families that ever lived and wanted to conquer the universe.
Cell was genetically programmed to seek revenge for his master and the Red Army.
Bubu was deeply backgrounded, he was created by an evil witch that wanted to have revenge on the Gods and to accomplish his goals created the most evil and diabolic war machine ever. Bubu was meant to be a world destruction weapon. Then the chief of the Gods in an attempt to control Bubu fused himself with him making creating Fat Bubu... Then thousands of years later the son of the witch seeking revenge for his Father worked towards awaken Bubu again.
Also in DB we've seen countless times the main characters talking about their past and their feelings: Goku, Vegeta, Picolo, Songohan, Krilin, etc...
And a lot of Characters evolves immensely. Take Vegeta, Bulma, C18 and Gohan for example.
I honestly don't see your point. I'll give you one thing though, the animation was poor but back then they didn't have the same resources to produce high level animation.

And how is there no villain history? so wait ur saying the Frieza saga had no history? the fact Frieza was the one who blew up planet vegeta and killed both vegeta AND gokus fathers isnt a story to u? the fact goku avenged his entire planet wasnt a storyline to u? now come on..... And cell wasnt a storyline to u? the fact doctor gero (WHO WAS THE MAIN ANTAGONIST OF THE ENTIRE DRAGON BALL SERIES) wanted to kill goku and created a machine to do so wasnt a storyline with a history to u? Buu is the only villain with no true storyline to the previous anime. But thats alright cause he was epic lol

Gohan destroyed Cell going SSJ2
Gohan was more powerful than Goku and Gotenks in the Buu saga as a Mystic Saiyan thanks to the elder Kai
Gotenks went toe to toe with Buu and could have won if not for his childlike nature.
Vegeta was always a badass he decimated Goku in the Saiyan Saga
I could go on but won't. Also the only reasonable and valid complaint I see with DBZ and will readily admit is the fight scenes were dragged out over mutliple episodes but personally I would prefer that to the 100+ episodes of filler like Naruto and Bleach
PS just for all the GT stuff being said or mentioned or just to clarify it was not canon Akira Toriyama had nothing to do with it except his animation studio made it but he didn't want to and you can tell in the dip in quality.
