I've always thought of them as similar characters. Darui has black lightning and Kakashi has sharingan, but they're fairly similar other than that.

darui is pretty much the kakashi of kumo, and similar to what kakashi would have developed into without the sharingan, no chakra drainage, much more lightning oriented techniques[hard to imagine right?] and from my thoughts on what black lightning consists of[the densest form of raiton release], i think kakashi could learn that as well given constant progression with his skills, theyre definitely meant to parallel each other as characters
