Darui also has the characters for Water (水) and Lightning (雷) tattooed on his right and left shoulders respectively, presumably denoting his chakra's elemental nature affinities; Water Release and Lightning Release.
As a sword-user, Darui wields a large, cleaver-like blade, which is seen carried on his back during the Kage summit, although he doesn't seem to carry it around at his home village

In his first appearance, Darui is portrayed as easy-going and mellow; when compared to the Fourth Raikage's over-the-top exit through a window, (destroying a wall along with it), he tells C that he'll just use the door. Whilst having a more laid-back demeanor compared to his leader, Darui isn't lazy, leaping to the Raikage's defense when the bodyguards of the other Kage overreact to the Raikage's reactions.

Background Info.
History:
During the five Kage summit Darui was chosen along with C to accompy the Raikage as his bodyguard. In a running joke for his character whenever the Raikage gets excited and bursts through a wall or smashes through a window he tends to apologize to someone and then attempts to find a door to use while his partner C will instead follow the Raikage. He is highly loyal to the Raikage and ready to defend him. When the Raikage smashed a table during the Kage summit he immediately got into a position to defend him from the other people at the meeting.
After Zetsu had revealed that Sasuke was in fact present in the land of Iron Darui followed the Raikage along with C in their search for them. When the battle began Darui engaged Suigetsu in a sword battle using his Cleaver against Suigetsu's broken Decapitator sword. Much of their battle was left to the imagination of the reader but it ended with Suigetsu pinned to the wall by Darui's Cleaver which had a chidori current running through it making it difficult for Suigetsu to control his body. He then comes to the aid of C who was incapacitated by one of Sasuke's genjutsu techniques and then watches as the Raikage sacrifices one of his arms.
The Raikage tries to land a kick to Sasuke's chest despite the black flames of Amaterasu being in his way, but is prevented from doing so when Gaara creates a sand barrier between the two. While Gaara talks to Sasuke the Raikage is healed by C while Darui comes to the aid of Gaara and the others. They then attempt to defeat Sasuke in a combined assault but their attacks are useless against a new version of Susanoo. Sasuke destroys the supports of the room they're in causing the ceiling to cave in but they are all protected by Gaara's sand.
Upon returning to the meeting room they are all confronted by Madara who has saved both Sasuke and Karin. He then listens as Madara explains the Moon's Eye plan to them and reveals the existence of a 10 tailed beast, the Juubi. Much to his and the Raikage's surprise Madara then asks them to hand over the Hachibi and explains how Kirabi wasn't actually captured. Darui isn't surprised and states that that is something Kirabi would do.
After the meeting he, the Raikage and C are enroute back to Kumogakure when C senses Kirabi's chakra in the giant water prison created by Kisame. They arrive just in time for Darui to throw a lightning infused shuriken and break a sword Kisame was using to cut off Kirabi's legs. Darui calls Kisame foolish for thinking he could absorb so much of someone's chakra, use it for their own attack and not have it be sensed by that person's allies.
After Killer Bee and the Raikage decapitate "Kisame" with their collaborative Double Lariat technique, Darui, along with C, watch from the sidelines as the newly-reunited brothers start to bicker over Killer Bee's running away from Kumogakure. When they returned to Kumogakure, Darui wanted to take a breather despite the Fourth Raikage's Assistant asking for a quick briefing of the situation. C contrasted Darui's desire to rest by indicating that things are getting more important than when Bee went missing. Darui is last seen in attendance of a war meeting in Kumogakure.
Other
Cleaver Sword
The Cleaver Sword is a giant cleaver like weapon that Darui uses to fight Suigetsu's Decapitating Carving Knife. It is broad, but can unfold vertically to double its width. Darui can also imbue it with lightning chakra to numb the opponent. The blade can even maintain the charge even if he is no longer holding the blade.
Storm Release
Darui is a profficient user of Storm release techniques. The origins of storm release are not yet known but it is presumed to be a kekkei genkai which combines the elements of water and lightning to create a fluid moving bright electric substance that can cause large explosions. Darui is the only character shown to be able to use this element in the manga, though Hiruko was shown to use it in Naruto Shippūden 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire. In what may be an extension of his Storm release Darui has been shown to be able to use water and lightning jutsu simultaneously.

By jumping into the tunnel the user is catapulted forward by the wind pressure at tremendous speeds. Upon entry into the tunnel the time it takes to reach the destination makes it impossible for the opponent to preform a series of hand seals. Because the pressure is pushing towards the opponent, objects cannot enter from that side and will just be immediately pushed away. When the user passes through their tunnel their body receives minor cuts on the surface of their skin.

Decription: The user preforms a series of hand seals and stomps his foot on the ground. This act raises a large column of earth from the ground which bends and shoots towards the opponent. As this is happening the earth of the column condenses by pressing the earth in the middle of the column towards the outside. This doesn't change the size of the column but makes the stone much harder and also leaves the center of the column hollow. As the earth condenses itself it squeezes the water that was in the soil out and into the center of the now hollow column. This creates an outer layer of highly compact stone with large amounts of water in the middle. Naturally the condition of the earth itself and recent weather events determine the amount of water that is able to be squeezed out. This technique works best when in a tropical, forest environment, or during a rain or thunderstorm. If created in an arid environment there will be little to no water in the column.
