Dark release is what reigns over the energy realm of elements. It's both good at taming (absorbing) energy-based elements aswell as dominating them with strengthened raw energy during a clashing encounter. The entire ability of Dark Release revolves around a mark placed on one's hand which serves the purpose of absorbing chakra/energy aswell as solids although the latter would be harder to absorb. This absorbed energy can then be used to perform a dark release technique by first converting it into a stronger raw type of energy which we call dark release.
I want to learn Dark Release because 3/5 of the basic elements are weak to it and most importantly because of its property to absorb energy-based attacks alongside their pitiful damage boosts. xD

Meiton is a KG in which the user acts almost as an Organic Fuuinjutsu of sorts, absorbing and releasing physical and spiritual energies (chakra). Because it works, in a sense, like a Fuuinjutsu, the absorbed chakra doesn't actually enter the users Chakra Circulatory System (like what happens with the Rinnegan's absorption abilities) but its kept in the KG mark, as if stored in a separate space within the body. One can say the squares (upper and lower) are much like portals to the sealing space but the sealing space has no connection with the user's chakra. Because of this, the user has little control over the form he can release said chakra. As he releases it, it manifests in a raw energy form rather than a specific elemental one.

While Dark isn't strong against Water and Earth since they are both matter elements and, lets be real you can't absorb something that is matter, just doesn't work like that. Earth suffers double strength towards the absorbing ability of Dark Release (meaning that only an S-Rank Dark release can absorb a B-Rank Earth technique)
And again when release your opponents technique. If your opponent blocks using any of the following; The two obvious ones Earth and Water as well as; Solid Ice, Steel, Wood or Lava. They will overpower your dark as they are matter based.
Dark has been slightly nerfed, lighting can be absorbed, but when pitted against lighting. They will cancel one another out. Obviously have to be the same rank.
The reason I like dark release, it gives you the chance to absorb your opponent attack and redirect it stronger.

Oh I see, thanks for mentioning the nerfing in regards to lightning release. I wasn't aware of this. Ok so releasing a dark technique that requires the use of "inhaling maw" would be able to match a lightning technique of equal rank, but does that mean the B-rank "Inhaling maw" can only absorb up to B-Rank lightning aswell? Or can the B-rank variant also absorb A-rank lightning?
Hiruko has shown both the black color and the blue color, if I remember correctly. From what I understood, a dark-based technique which is not based on releasing a technique we've already absorbed would be black-ish in color whereas if we are releasing a dark-based technique after the use of "inhaling maw" it would be blue.

Only when they collide, lightning can be absorbed still. Just like the other elements, wind and fire so forth. Yup, you are correct.
Alright, I am going to have to teach you inhaling maw first, as most of the canon techniques require it. Just perform it, and just give me a little something on how you'd use it or something.

Now comes the most useful of all dark release techniques; Okay, I am going to create and release an A-rank fire technique I want you to put out your right hand with the two diamonds on your hand, using your dark chakra I want you to start to extract and absorb the physical and spiritual energy (chakra) of my jutsu into the upper diamond on your right hand.

As instructed, I brace myself for what was to come. My teacher unleashes a large fireball towards me. I am well aware that I can only begin absorbing it once it reaches short range, yet, my palm already faced towards it, prepared. Once the fire reached absorption range, I manipulated some of my chakra, concentrating it towards the upper diamond mark on my palm as I allowed it to "awaken" and begin absorbing the physical and spiritual energy of my teacher's technique. Basically the entirety of the fireball. This was a continuous process I focused on until all the fire got absorbed.
Briefly said, it is practical to get rid of a vast majority of energy-based techniques (based on the limitations stated in the inhaling maw technique). I personally would use it against techniques that might be harder to evade than frontal energy-based attacks (such as attacks from above or below) because instead of only defending, I would be both defending and storing chakra for future dark techniques.

After absorbing the clone's incoming wind technique with the upper diamond of the palm which I faced towards the clone's technique, I prepare to unleash one of my own from the lower diamond. Now concentrating my chakra into the lower diamond on my palm, I trigger the lower diamond, making it release dark-based chakra with I further shape manipulate to assume the form of a wave as it launches towards the clone.
Now for the second dark technique, I first raise my palm towards the clone's incoming wind technique, again, to absorb it through the upper diamond. Then for the technique I've been told to release, I concentrate chakra onto the lower diamond, triggering it to unleash the chakra it has absorbed in a widespread manner. I do so waving my hand horizontally from right to left, with the clone at line of sight between the two extremities. As I released the dark chakra wave out, I used more power in it in order for it to reach the clone which was at long distance.
Now for the second dark technique, I first raise my palm towards the clone's incoming wind technique, again, to absorb it through the upper diamond. So after absorbing a technique with maw, you will release the chakra in both of your hands. Then by releasing it outwards in the form of a shockwave. At long range the shockwave will push them back, same for mid-range. But if used within short range of your target, it will cause massive internal damage. So this technique is best used when in short range of your target.

Okay so this is one of the new canon techniques that was released a couple weeks back, so I'm not to familiar with it.
So; pretty much get into touching distance of my clone, place your hand on him [hand that has the two diamond marks on it] doing that should allow you to absorb up to 40 points of chakra while remaining touching him. This chakra absorbed can be used as a medium towards other dark release techniques like Judgement.

I approach the clone once my teacher made it appear on the terrain. As I got within reach of the clone, I concentrated my chakra onto the upper square on my right hand, triggering it in order for it to begin absorbing chakra once I had placed my right palm onto the clone's shoulder. By doing so, this ability called Draining Touch -which is what I just performed- would permit me to store the clone's absorbed chakra for future use. I maintained contact with the clone until I was done absorbing a reasonable amount of chakra (20) for being able to release a dark technique later... Well the heck with it! Might aswell absorb some more (+20).
With this chakra gathered, I now manipulate it to become dark release chakra and concentrate it towards both of my palms as I faced my palms towards the clone's abdomen. With an abrupt pulse of releasing all the gathered chakra at once, it came out from both palms' lower square in the form of a dark-natured chakra shockwave. This shockwave "claps" in a powerful manner onto the clone's abdomen which causes a significant deal of internal damage in that area. This impact was even strong enough to send the clone backwards.

As he does, a radial vortex-like effect is creating towards each hand. By doing this, the user is able to defend from attacks (following the elemental weaknesses and strengths of the KG) that are thrown at him from all directions, as the vortexes will direct them to the markings. However, if the user fails to keep both arms and markings perfectly opposed to each other, the vortexes will become unstable and fail.
This is similar to inhaling maw. But also different, it does have the same absorbing effect. But this technique is used for defence. So what I want you to do is point out your palms facing outwards and facing opposing directions. This in turn will activate your absorption squares on both of your hands. Once that is complete two vortex will surge out of your hands, these vortex get larger, and allow you to defend from attacks from all different directions. The only issue with this, you have to keep both your arms, and markings opposed from each other perfectly. If you don't well you could damage yourself.

After using the upper diamond on my left palm to absorb a technique you've thrown at me, I claim this absorbed chakra as my own by taking control of it however I see fit. With the help of my own chakra, I release all of the absorbed chakra from the lower square on my palm as I simultaneously manipulate it. As it's being released towards the mid-ranged clone, I control the released chakra, granting it the burning property of fire therefore making it similarly as agitated as fire, yet also keeping the destructive attribute of dark release. The result of this was the release of blue-colored chakra that moved like a gale but danced like fire, that then hit the clone, extinguishing it.
At this point you threw a wind technique to my direction. My arms hastily stretches to their respective sides: to my right and left. My palms also respectively faced the right and left side as I channel chakra onto each of the palms' upper square in order to activate my absorption ability, absorbing anything incoming from whichever possible direction thanks to the radial vortex-like effects being formed. All of this while remaining well conscious of keeping my arms stretched to each-other's opposite side. Since your wind was a frontal attack and my palms were facing the right and left, as the wind technique reached short range of me it got torn apart by the vortexes on each sides as it got absorbed by both of them.

The user, when facing an attack, will clap his hands together and separate them right after. As he separates his hands, a small dark sphere will be between them. The user maintains his hands close to sustain the small sphere while it siphons any enemy technique or enemy chakra within range towards itself. This technique is essentially a more advanced and powerful version of Dark Release: Inhaling Maw and enables the user to absorb higher ranked techniques. Now with this one. When an attack is heading towards you. Clap your hands and as soon as you do a black sphere will start to form between them. Like a black hole of sorts, but in the shape of a sphere. This will absorb the technique thrown at you. May it be wind, fire, lighting, or even water to a degree. There is also a waiting period on using techniques that require absorption.

This technique is essentially a more advanced and powerful version of Dark Release: Inhaling Maw and enables the user to absorb higher ranked techniques. However, when used, the user needs to wait one turn to use Dark Release absorption related techniques.
Now with this one. When an attack is heading towards you. Clap your hands and as soon as you do a black sphere will start to form between them. Like a black hole of sorts, but in the shape of a sphere. This will absorb the technique thrown at you. May it be wind, fire, lighting, or even water to a degree. There is also a waiting period on using techniques that require absorption.

Description:
A stronger version of the Dark Release: Judgment technique, the user will convert the absorbed chakra from either two uses of Dark Release: Inhailing Maw or one use of Dark Release: Ultimate Inhaling Maw and then releases it into light blue flames, turning it back on their enemies with amplified strength to blow them away. To do this, the user releases chakra from the markings in both his hands.
Note: Must have absorbed enemy techniques before using.

Assuming you throw a technique at me, I clap my palms together while concentrating chakra towards each of the upper diamonds, activating them together. This causes the apparition of a small black sphere as I calmly distance my palms away from eachother. This black sphere proceeds to absorbs my teacher's technique once it reaches short range of me, storing it inside my upper diamonds on each of my palms to be used later on.
With a foreign technique already absorbed by my recent usage of "Ultimate Inhaling Maw", I proceed with performing the technique called "Ultimate Judgement". I use my own chakra to manipulate the other chakra that I've absorbed, releasing all of the absorbed chakra from the lower square on both of my palms as I simultaneously manipulate it. As it's being released towards an imaginary enemy, I control the released chakra to grant it the burning property of fire therefore making it similarly as agitated as fire, yet also keeping the destructive attribute of dark release. The result of this was the release of blue-colored chakra that moved like a gale but danced like fire, that would then hit the imaginary enemy in a much more powerful manner than the weaker version of the technique and would be of larger scale.

By releasing and gathering dark chakra into one of the users hands, the user can create a dark orb with two dark rings around it (giving an atomic look). After having absorbed one of your techniques, I gather chakra onto the lower square on my right palm to release the stored dark chakra. As the dark chakra is being released, I carefully take control of it, applying shape manipulation to it. I make all this dark chakra randomly and rapidly orbit around one imaginary point to form a rasengan-like orb. The movement of each chakra particle exponentially accelerates until it altogether looks like a nice orb held by me. Two very small miniature-sized orbs pop up to orbit around the main orb as a lowly excuse to avoid copyright infringement of the rasengan.
Now I rush towards the clone while keeping hold and control of the orb and finally slam it onto the clone.
