Danzo's last sharingan

i was just wondering why didnt danzo use the sharingan in is left eye for izanagi after he ran out of the eyes on is hand

he didn't know he ran out of saringans because of genjutsu by sasuke and tryed to use izanagi and failed of course because no eye there and died

he was debating whether to use it for izanagi or use it to to distract sasuke and madara to excape... it explains it in the manga and the anime...

he was already going downhill he was correct to think about madara anytime sasuke would have faltered it was clear that madara was going to step in so he had to have something up his sleeve for that!!!
