Danzo is useless

...even without Hashi's DNA and imbedded Sharingan, Danzo is still a formidable opponent.

He didn't have the sharingan for a long time I believe. He was a fine shinobi and well trained as he was under the tutelage of the second hokage. Especially if Hiruzen trusted him on village matters, he must have been an exceptionally tactician. I agree his personality was lousy but I admire his intentions although flawed.
