Once again, he's an antivillain. He's a villain with good intentions. He wants the best for Konoha, the problem is that it's in a hypocritical way and he thinks the best is him being totally in charge of it.

Adolf Hitler wanted what's best for Germany. Does that make him an antivillian instead of a full fledged demon?

Where in the manga does it state that?

Because in the manga it states that he stopped Shisui because he thought that he couldn't trust him.

Danzo is a bad guy, but you are slightly exagerrating.

It doesn't say in the manga. You can just extrapolate it based on Danzo's personality that that is the most likely reason why he stopped Shisui.

Exactly, imagine konoha under danzo's rule? It would almost be like north korea.........

Edit: It's also painfully obvious that danzo wanted the uchihas gone so that he could gain their power. This is why he collaborated with Tobi/obito at the time of the uchiha massacre(it was obvious they discussed something important-they didn't just sip tea.....)

Were the Jews attempting to overthrow him? No, they were not.

That is an entirely different situation. Btw don't compare real life to a manga about shinobi who kill when they think it's needed.

You are exagerrating bro. Danzo fits under the classification of an antivillain. It's not that hard to believe.

You guys are all saying Demon, or antivillain...Danzo is none of those things. He's Human.

Danzo, Hitler, all of those other dictators...we all call them demons and stuff, to disassociate them from us. They're Humans, just like you and me. That man you sat next to on the bus? Future dictator of America. The kid who handed you your pencil when you dropped it in class back in kindergarten? Serial killer. Honestly, you guys have to realize no one is solely 'Good' or 'Evil'. People are a mixture of both.

And why did he want to gain their power? So he could protect Konoha.
Not denying that his methods were immoral. That's the part that makes him a villain.
But he didn't do it for laughs. He wanted to protect Konoha his own way. That's what makes him an antivillain.

Were the little children he killed via Orochimaru trying to overthrow him? no

But he just sacrificed them anyway. Danzo ordered human experimentation and that is quite out there in terms of evilness.

He knew that Konoha would be nearly annhilated and was more than willing to sacrifice all the people just to gain power.

^I agree with him
Danzo can be considered evil because of his last for power

No, he got it so that he could RULE konoha-there's a difference between ruling and protecting. Regardless, his main goal was to rule the country and become a powerful figure-NOT to protect it.(that was just a side thing) This was shown when he brutally allowed konoha citizens to die just so that he could overthrow tsunade as the hokage later on.(If protecting the village was his main goal, he could have fought pain personally) A truly noble fellow tries to protect the village selflessly-danzo is the most selfish man in the manga. And no, he isn't an anti villain. He's much worse than that. Madara and obito also have "good" goals-but they are both considered villains. Danzo is the same.

But that was filler. :/

That and I'm still going to believe that he's an antivillain. An antivillain is just a villain w/ good intentions. Danzo fits under that category. He wanted to protect Konoha, the bad part was that it had to be through his way (which was wrong).

Or more heavily mixed with evil.

Mixtures are rarely 50/50

Madara and Obito were trying to create peace by placing everyone under an illusion and they did this for the world

What would he gain by ruling Konoha if he didn't want to protect it? Yes, he wanted that power, but he still cared about the village and that was shown from his flashbacks all the way back when he was on Tobirama's team. He didn't want to rule Konoha just for fun. He had Root go after missing-nins, how does that benefit him? He still cared. That and during the Pain invasion, he would have just gotten killed anyway.

Note: I know where you're coming from. I'm not denying that Danzo has done some extremely immoral things in this manga, he truly has. That's why he's a villain. But I'm just considering him to be an antivillain simply because he did still care about the village to an extent, that's the only reason.

Madara, Obito, and Danzo are all villains. But then again, Obito and Madara choose to kill random people, even when it's not needed and have fun doing it. Danzo just took out who he thought was a threat to Konoha and even committed suicide so that Obito would not get Shisui's eye.

Danzo is still an antivillain for this series, especially considering that it's one about shinobi.

Orochimaru, Hidan, Madara, and Obito are all more evil then he is.

Agreed, but you guys can't immediately call Danzo a 'Demon'. Remember, this is the world where kidnapping a 14 year old girl and sealing a gigantic three tailed demon inside her for the sole purpose of releasing it to destroy her village, or sealing a giant one tailed tanuki into your premature child is hunkey dorey. Seriously, these people are ninja's, they see the Sharingarm and they say 'Wow he stole the Sharingans whatever.'

Not really.

Danzo stopped the one thing preventing the massacre of the clan.

Itachi only went through with the massacre after there were no other options. And there were no other options left due to Danzo stopping the KA attempt.

They're not even anywhere near the same boat.
