because a lot of people i talk to on the irc networks use "ish" instead of "ist", and in the circumstance it would have worked.

yep, i noticed i'm only learning myself. i've read a few books and spend a lot of time on irc in german chat rooms made up of mostly other people who are learning, so i'm not all that great myself.
