Background Info.
History:
Nightmare was renamed as a child as ever night he woke up screaming because of his nightmares. He was born in a small unknown village in what were meant to be peaceful times. When he was younge he lived in a small village with his parents and his younger sister, Guren.
One day he was playing out in the woods near the village when a 2 older boys came along, they began to call him names and taunt him, but he tried to walk away. The boys began to follow him, then they grabbed him and punched him, holding up against a tree saying "We're going to teach you a lesson youll never forget emo!". Then as the taller of the 2 boys were about to hit him something snapped in his head, he grabbed both the boys by there shoulders in some kind of transe, the next thing he knew the boys were being engulfed in crystal... when Nightmare returned to his normal self, the 2 boys were dead on the ground engulfed in crystal, he was scared and didnt know what to do, the villagers would kill him if he stayed so he ran for his life... what he didnt know is that later his younger sister, Guren, would be blamed for there deaths when she discovered her crystal abilities, causing her to be resented by the villagers.
12 days after running away from the village, Nightmare was cold, hungry and felt on the verge of death. He colapsed against a tree in exhaustion, the next thing he knew he woke up in a hotel room to see a white haired male sat by his bed writing some notes. He asked who the man was and the man told him his name was Jiraiya. After that, jiraiya agreed to look after the boy until he was well and teach him how to use jutsu.
A year after first meeting jiraiya, he was taken to the toad village to train there in toad arts and signed the toad contract. After that he left jiraiya to train on his own and to check up on his sister, but when he returned to the village it had been destroyed... by Orochimaru.
