Protectors Intervention Part 1
The sun is setting on the horizon the lights of Okatang one by one slowly start turning on, the lights all along the bridge turn on in unison the red light on top of the central tower in the middle of the lake is the last to turn on.
Not long after a shadowy figure lands on the central tower in the blinking red light, they can barely be seen they are dressed in a tight fitting outfit with some armour in vital spots two small swords sheathed on their back and a mask covering their face.
The figure stands on the tower slowly turning their head observing the city when off in the distance three falling objects catch their eye, they press a switch on the side of the mask and two lenses slide over the eyes of the mask.
They focus their attention on the three falling objects which turn out to be drop pods with O.C.U marked on the side, the figures eyes widen in shock as they click the switch again the lenses raise back into the mask. The figure runs to the edge and jumps from the top of the tower; they soar towards the bridge landing in a crouched position on top of one of the beams. In the blink of an eye they jump to the road below and vanish into the alleys between the buildings.
Meanwhile the three drop pods touch down just on the inside of the city walls in a remote area. The hatches open and out step three soldiers in light battle armour and military fatigues a blaster rifle on their backs and a smaller blaster in a holster on their right leg. The hatches on the pods close and they vanish from sight the lead soldier presses a button on his communicator.
Soldier: ghost squad to Lieutenant Kasey we have landed in Okatang activating cloaking systems and omega trackers. Will report when we have found the targets. over.
Lieutenant Kasey: very good ghost squad Lieutenant Kasey out.
On a building above the ghost squad, the figure lands just as they vanish from sight the figure looks around quickly a flash of purple comes from the eyes of their mask. The figure spots the heat signatures of the ghost squad moving quickly towards the docks; the figure leaps off the building and sprints after the ghost squad.
Meanwhile two copters enter the outskirts of sector 15.
Agent: now just so we are clear we will land at the warehouse the collector owns in Okatang to bypass the checkpoints and go to this smithy’s place of business. You and the other men wait nearby I will go in and get the information we need and hopefully leave with no drama. Oh and one more thing.
The agent gets up, opens a compartment in front of him, and throws a sword and a blaster to Jacob.
Agent: Much better than the one you had stronger too, it will not break as easily and the blaster is just in case you need it.
Jacob: thanks but from the way you are talking, I will not get to use them.
Agent: I do not want a war to break out when all we came for is some information.
Jacob: the guards should be easy to dispose of if a fight breaks out no worries.
Agent: the guards are not our main concern the Military have a carrier permanently patrolling the skies, they will lock down the area we will not get out.
Jacob: Very well, we shall do it your way
Pilot: sir, we have entered Okatang air space we will be landing in fifteen minutes.
Agent: thank you pilot.
Meanwhile a seemingly empty boat comes in and docks, leaving the guards at the dock baffled. After the guards, finish inspecting it the cloaked ghost squad exit the boat. Another figure stands up from a prone position on the roof of the boat, leaps to the dock, and follows the ghost squad.
A few minutes later, the ghost squad stop a couple of streets down from smithy’s place.
Ghost Leader: ghost leader to Lieutenant Kasey we have tracked them down locking down the area.
Lieutenant Kasey: very good do not engage them unless they make the first move and if they try to leave Okatang, you are to detain them
Ghost Leader: understood sir ghost leader out
Ghost Leader: ghost two the west side, ghost three the east side and I will remain here ghosts move out
The ghost squad members quickly move into position while above them the shadowy figure watches on.
Meanwhile two copters land at a warehouse in the business district, the agent and Jacob get out of one and ten men dressed in black and red get out of the other one.
Agent: alright load up on armour and equipment from the warehouse them into the trucks, Jacob you ride with me I don’t want you out of my sight.
Jacob rolls his eyes and nods as he walks over and sits in the front seat of one of the trucks that is hovering in front of the warehouse, while the ten men quickly move around the warehouse grabbing what they need then they get into the other truck.
The agent gets into the truck next to Jacob and presses a button the front gate of the warehouse slides open and the trucks glide out a few minutes later they stop a few blocks away from smithy’s.
The agent, Jacob and the ten men gather around the first truck.
Agent: ok we will go in on foot this will be the fall back point if it gets out of hand or I order a retreat, when we get there I will go in get the information Jacob you and the men cover the front of the building. If the city guard show up do not engage unless they fire first and I mean it Jacob. If you see an O.C.U unit or military squad, you notify me and fall back understood.
Jacob and the ten men nod and start walking towards smithy’s.
Meanwhile near smithy’s place.
Ghost 2: ghost two to ghost leader a level three omega and a small squad of men have just entered the zone, it is not looking good out here. Wait sir it cannot be.
Ghost leader: ghost two what is going on over there.
Ghost 2: sir the level three omega is The Beast Jacob Blake
The ghost squad leader’s eyes widen and his heart starts to beat faster all kinds of thoughts race though his mind he presses a button on his comm unit
Ghost Leader: Ghost leader to Lieutenant Kasey this zone just got too hot to handle Jacob Blake just entered the area with a squad of men please advise.
Lieutenant Kasey: ghost leader hold your position I am putting containment squads on standby now if anything happens notify me and they will drop straight to your position
Ghost Leader: all right sir holding position ghost leader out.
Lieutenant Kasey: Sergeant put the carrier out full alert and the containment teams on standby ready for drop into the city now.
Sergeant: yes sir.
The sergeant presses a button an alarm sounds out all over the carrier
Sergeant: full alert, full alert this is not a drill containment squads to your drop pods ready for deployment this is not a drill.
Ghost leader: ghost leader to ghost squad if anything happens we are to hold position until containment squads arrive.
Ghost Two: Yes Sir
Ghost Three: Yes Sir
The shadowy figure looks on as the ghost squad become very animated, each of them adding attachments to their rifles and setting up ground shields, the figure decides to listen in on the conversation.
(Shadowy figure listening in)
Ghost Two: Ghost Leader how are we meant to stop him if he starts. We will be dead before containment squads get here.
Ghost Leader: Ghost Two we have our orders now cut the chatter.
Ghost Three: he is right Sir they should send the containment squad now and not wait. No good will come of waiting.
Ghost Leader: for all we know a containment squad will set him off, Jacob Blake is unpredictable so cut the chatter that is an order.
The figure stands up straight a cold chill runs down their spine they take off their mask and look up at the moon, a tear rolls down their cheek as they whisper off into the night sky.
Zara: you were right Lucas it may happen again. How do I stop him?
Zara wipes the tear away and puts her mask back on
Zara: whatever happens I promise Okatang will not share the same fate as Visor or Sector 13.
