Saito listens as Madara explains the technique to him. Saito does 4 hand seals and sends his doton chakra into the ground. It travels to mid range, then is forced out of the ground all at once to create many pillars of earth to trap an unsuspecting clone. Saito releases the jutsu and then turns to Madara.
In battle, I would use it to get my opponent to stay in one spot so I could hit them with something more damaging, but less accurate. Offensively, I could definitely see myself using this in combination with Earth Release : Stone Spikes to pierce the opponent when they are trapped in the cage of stone. To escape this jutsu as there isn't really any defending against this, I could use something with a high destructive power like Rasengan or a lightning based jutsu. I find this technique interesting and sorta useful. Interesting because it forces the opponent into a small confined area, but only sorta useful because of its rank. Many things could be used to escape the cage. Saito said.
_______
Question: does the cage have a ceiling of a slab of stone or something?
_______
Saito again listens to Madara explain the next technique. Saito then tries the jutsu out for himself. He slams both of his hands on the ground and instantly sends a butt load of doton chakra into the ground, which immediately forced a large wall of earth to rise right in front of him.
In battle, I would use this technique to block incoming techniques which I thought would better be blocked than dodged via a stone pillar or something. There is no offensive way to use this technique as it is a solely defensive technique. Again, there is no defending against this technique as it is used for only defensive purposes. I find this technique useful and interesting. It is a very simple technique, but its also a nice defensive technique for thrown/ launched jutsus/ weapons. There are far more many offensive techniques than defensive techniques, so this helps add another defensive technique to what I can use at this point in time. Saito said
