Crocodile got destroyed and humiliated numerous times in his first run in the New World. He got turned into a man by Ivankov, got crushed by Whitebeard and recieved that huge scar on his face. Completely out of his league, his dreams were crushed(to be more accurate, he lost his confidence) and he return to "paradise." He developed a "If I can't have it then no one can" mentality. The world pushed him down so he'll get even by pushing the world down. Croc had no grudge against Alabasta, but they were still apart of "the world" and the world is his enemy. He wanted to bring despair to Alabasta and wanted Pluton to brind despair to the world. Losing to Luffy was the last straw. Croc completely lost all his confidence and pride and accepted capture by the marines. He was content with living the rest of his days rotting in Impel Down.

Hearing of the Whitebeard War re-lit the fire within him. His ambition and pride was rekindled and he set off for Marineford. The chance of killing WB gave him hope. After the Marineford War, Croc's confidence, pride and ambition was fully restored. He went into the war of the best, fought the best, walked away with minor injures and is at the doorstep of a turbulent new era. With a big confident smile, Croc said "I'm heading back to the New World."

Crocodile wouldn't even be dignified by Mihawk or asked to team up with Doffy if he was that weak.

Croc was "weak" when he first went into the new world OR simply picked fights with the wrong people. Croc got stronger later on. Crocodile became a warlord due to his strength.

What does Moriah being the weakest shichibuaki have to do with Crocodile 10+ years ago? He too, just like Crocodile, got destroyed in the New World and came back to "paradise." Don Chinjao got destroyed in the New World and dropped piracy. Kidd got hurt bad in the New World and was forced to make an alliance of all things. Is it so hard to think Crocodile had a hard time to?

Once again, have a look at my previous reply.
I told that Luffy had more battle intelligence, not that he's smarter than Enel.
In all the fights till now, when Luffy was on a pinch, he always found the way out and won.
As for Robin, yes, she could have possibly built that, and Enel had Gan Fall men's built it for him

Dragon's head quarters in Baltigo was in the grandline, so making it like he had a luxuries life in Paradise is bull.

He didn't go after any Yonkou like Crocodile did, he used his heritage to con the government and ruled over dressrosa making profits with the big shots.

Does that make Doflamingo weak too?

So these assumptions belittling Crocodile for being weak, is a weak argument in itself.
