Doflamingo wanted a partnership with Crocodile where they will be EQUALS. He won't make someone who can't even beat his petty officers his equal.
Crocodile has notions on ancient weapons. It's very likely it's one of the reasons Doflamingo wanted him as an ally. Doflamingo is far above his level strength-wise. It's not even debatable. All the officers are minimum mid vice-admiral levels. Even Lucci wasn't vice-admiral level pre-skip, let alone Crocodile
Crocodile held his own against Akainu himself. Akainu overwhelmed the entirety of WB commanders including Marco himself. That shows something.
Sneak attacking someone isn't holding your own. He fought no one relevant during that war. He was just an annoying mofo flying everywhere and that no one cared about
It wouldn't be a stretch to assume that Crocodile has haki. Luffy was very lucky to defeat Crocodile (after being defeated twice). Because it is early in the series, haki wasn't developed like it is now. A veteran of the Grandline and being a Warlord, Crocodile should have haki. The blackening effect was introduced only after TS. Before that, it was difficult to determine whether haki was being used or not.
Doesn't matter. Luffy was a rookie back then, alabasta version and gearless and still was physically stronger and faster than him. The only thing that helped him against Luffy was his logia ability and poison, but overall Luffy was the stronger combattant back then despite being at his weakest probably in the serie
There seems to be a significant difference between Alabasta Mr. 0 and MF Crocodile. But MF Crocodile still qualifies as Pre TS Crocodile. It shouldn't be hard for a former warlord to show these guys they are not in his league.
MF Crocodile did nothing relevant during that war at all. No wonder people call narutobase a joke. The same thread in other forums(narutoforums, milleniumsforums and so on) and everyone agrees Crocodile is no match
