After hearing your explanation I see your clone formed. I send my chakra to disturb the clones chakra flow and when I throw a paper bomb forward the I manipulate it so he see's the illusion of a clone running towards him, then as my clone jumps and as the clone get ready for an impact, my illusionary clone explodes into flower petals which will render your clone confused. during this time I throw a kunai directed at his chest which hits him as he's dazed in my genjutsu.
Initially a clone running at you doesn't seem so un-relalistic but when the clones explodes into petals it's a sure sign of perhaps you've been put under an illusion. Also since it's a low-rank illusion the use of nagashi, kai and intense physical pain can break this simple illusion on your mind.

I see you clone so I walk into short range of him. I hold my katana out and with elegant quick motions I wave the sword in front of me. As I do this however I'm releasing chakra throughout the sword and into the on-looking clone. My chakra then disturbs his chakra flow and bring him under my illusion. When the clone is under the illusion he still sees my waving sword but i n the form of weaving arms that are coming from all directions. As the clone is distracted I bring my katana around and slice him which too him would just look like many arm swinging around.

For this technique insert chakra into your opponent's brain causing him to think that he's trapped unable to move in a flower bud, which then explodes causes stress to the opponent's mind because he believes that the explosion is real, which damages him, to counter this technique you can use Nagashi in order to destroy the flower and escaping without having to know that your under a genjutsu, and the surge of the Nagashi will get you out of the genjutsu anyways.

After hearing my sensei words, I quickly see his summoned clone. By releasing my own chakra into the clones chakra flow I disrupt the once steady flow of chakra into something I can control. The clone immediately is under the illusion of a giant flower that blossoms from under him and closes in an explosion - he perceives this as real and causes him to be greatly stressed. However in reality he just stands their warped and trapped within his mind.
I agree that nagashi would be the best course of action due to the inability to move under this illusion; if you're able to determine that flowers trap is an illusion resetting your chakra flow with a strong jolt of lightning will remove you from a lost fate..

People tend to use this without the butterflies, so in a cannon battle and without sensory/doujutsu skills it's impossible to know that being sucked into the earth is actually a genjutsu, so you have to work on it without knowing that it's a genjutsu, like for example you could as your being sucked into the ground, use earth chakra to increase the weight of your hands considerably as your punching the earth, increasing the force done by your hands with the weight and destroying the earth, and the earth technique does do a surge throughout your body and is an S-rank, so it's possible to escape the genjutsu this way, this is if the technique is the first technique your opponent uses so you don't break the timeframe, if it's the second you can simply use a technique that gets you into Long range, since this is Mid ranged it won't affect you while being in Long range.
This is the earth technique i'm talking about, you could check with Scorps and see if it does a surge of chakra into your body.

Suddenly in their minds feathers begin to float down from the sky drifting around all 4 of them. Since the clones don't react to the fact that it's more then likely an illusion, we freefrom taijutsu for a min or 2 while their attacks get slower and slower due to their sleepiness until finally they all fall asleep around me.
Same used by Kabuto during the Konoha invasion by the sound and sand village..was broken by Kai when Sakura and others got out of it.
