Thats brilliant. Thats exactly the answer I was looking for. I'd rather be a 'Social Outcast with no friends then hang around with abunch of people who all copy each other to fit into society.

Very true. But its not so much being different, its more so having a different taste or different likes.

Different in any way.....

because deep down people are afraid of anything, anyone that is different and feel endangered by them....they dont want other human`s properties, habits etc to be forcefully transferred onto them,so they criticize your way of living just to prove their lifestyle is better and that`s how they ensure the survival of it....by ruining yours...at the end of the day it`s just a game people have been playing for ages...for instance religion--->people fight over different religions because they believe theirs is a right one and they want to ensure they are right so they spit and destroy other beliefs to ensure the survival of their TRUE RIGHT opinion nd belief...however your problem is on a lower scale...but that`s how it is...they wanna keep us on chains...this system...they want us all to be the same to have us under control and therefore gain power(all those ways are then passed to the younger generation which implements the system`s RIGHT way into others because they were taught it`s the right way...as long as they see someone oppose that RIGHT way it means to them that they could be wrong and that troubles them as nobody wants to be wrong(it would mean they arent good enough to think this way)sooo they criticize you, spit on your WAY of things just to ensure your WAY isnt right and that you should follow theirs...it`s a brain washing of the system...it wants us all to be sheeps that follow one direction...but surely not all of us can abandon our true selves and do sth someone else wants us to do....screw the system, listen to your heart...;)

Very well written. But as I said to another person. ''Being Yourself just makes them feel worse''. I guess.

So many girls in my school make fun of me for wearing sweatpants all the time. What can I say, I'm lazy. >.> But I won't let them make me dress by their standards.

Exactly. If thats how you dress. Then thats fine. They only make fun of you because they feel threatened.

Such true words right here. You see them as nerdy. But you really want to go with them. But fear and dignity hold you back.
Happened to me once aswell. I didn't want to join an after school club until I realized I should just be myself and do it.

From kids to adults people will put each other in groups and put each other against groups that oppose their views or what they do. Everyone wants to feel that they are correct in their views so having more people with them confirms their view to be correct. When you have a 360 vs PS3, there are those who are fans of one console and view any other as inferior. While the Ps3 is obviously the better console, maybe Halo is just enough for someone to be a fan of the 360 over PS3. Sometimes if you spend a lot of money on items you will want to defend your purchase. This goes on everywhere in every possible form. From football teams, shoe designers, science, vacuums, etc... It is something you will have to live with or join. There is no other option.

Most people/teenagers are naturally spiteful, it just seems to me that each and every societal related problem will always exist in the world. Good cannot exist without bad, health can't exist without sickness, love can't exist without hatred. Polar opposites in society exist simply for the need of counterbalancing the other side of human nature.

I simply put it down to people who don't think enough, without considering other people's views and interests you can't possibly understand why they do that particular thing in the first place.

Its pretty much a combination of a society created spiteful nature which many (but not all) teenagers take on and ignorance of not knowing anything outside your own social norms.

I don't usually make threads like this, but this has been annoying me for quite a long time now.
Anyway here it goes.

I go to School. My interests are Anime/Manga, gaming and collecting things.
I like doing exercise and drinking and eating my favorite foods etc.
I dress the way I like. I listen to songs I have recently started getting into, Celldweller, Blue Stahli and so on.

Anyway, enough of that, my point is, why do people ( At my Age ) or any age for that matter, criticize people on being themselves and liking a certain taste of music. Or they are put down my others because they game on a certain machine?
Like for example. If a bunch of Xbox/Ps3 Fanboys asked me what I played. And I said just say, on PC. They all give you that look like you're some kind of alien. Or because you do something different than other people. People sit there and criticize you and mock you for being different. Now, this has actually barely happened to me. But when it did, it sparked this idea of ''Why?''. So because I'm not interested in whatever your interested in, you feel the need to criticize me?

I don't know if its Teenagers in general. But nobody is themselves, most follow some trends, listen to all the same music, eat the same foods, dress the same. Now, I know the term ''People can have similar tastes to each other''. But it gets out of control when they feel when other people aren't like them. They feel the need to come into my or someone's business and annoy them about it. What I'm trying to say is.

Why are people criticized for doing something they enjoy?

Honestly being the person that I am I would likely look the person in the eye and say "You mad" nod then say "yeah you mad" then walk away xd.
