hum...someone once used this against me to both counter swamp of underworld and to attack me... I guess it's usefull to attack along the ground if the enemy is standing on it.

Yes, but especially when the opponent is trapped. Do you know why your opponent used this particular to defend himself from the swamp?

because of two things i believe: first the heat of the tech would solidify the surface of the swamp and secondly, the swamp having two good conductors, both water and earth, makes the technique faster and stronger.

Both true, however the first one would be the main reason. A technique like swamp of the underworld is kind of hard to escape from for it can reach all the way to long range. Hardening it is one good way to escape from it.

hum...but, wouldn't one already be sinking in the swamp one we get to perform the justu itself? wouldn't we encase ourselves? cause this one takes handseals and by the time we notice the swamp forming, can we actually have time to do the tech before we start sinking? I mean, the tech would stop it...but before or after we sink a bit?

That all depend on the circumstances. It depends on how deep the swamp is, and on the timing it's used. As far as I know, since you sink with your feet first you can still perform handseals, thus use this jutsu. But I'd prefer Lightning Release: One Thousand Birds Current in a situation like that
