Not really, both are space time techniques, both can open dimensions, both can send objects into another dimension and both can be used as teleportation. Only difference is Kamui gives you intangibility but that intangibility is used by sending your own body parts or body parts from victims to another dimension...

Kamui is much more efficient when it comes to chakra usage and going into Kamui dimension and apart from intagibility, you can Kamui snipe as well. While ameno can open kamui imo and even kaguya's dimension, the chakra toll is much higher and the user needs to open the portal first to the dimension and then enter. Compared to that Kamui user can teleport him and others all at once.

There are lots of differences between the techniques than similarities, apart from being a S/T technique, they totally differ in how they work.

The aim is to counter the attack of the person above you with another justsu.....no limitations/bounds except for Yata/Totsuka/TNJ.
