Could someone update me on the anime?

We're in Itachi Arc right now. I think there's one more episode until Canon airs again.

They are up to the part where Madara casts the Infinite Tsukuyomi on the Shinobi Alaince. They have even covered the part where Sasuke expains to Naruto what the genjutsu is and the part where he trash talks Sakura and Kakashi.

SP has made the dreams shown by individuals into a filler story. Currently we are at the point of Itachi's history. It will be over in 2 weeks I believe and then we will get back to cannon where BZ will stab Madara thus summoning Kaguya from her seal.

We're getting Akamaru's dream arc in may which is gonna be roughly 7 episodes, following that in July we're gonna see Tsunade's dream part 2 which is gonna be 12 episodes at best following that in October we're gonna see 5 episodes of canon and black zetsu orgins which is gonna show is adventurez over the past 1000 years. It's not yet known how they're gonna stretch that out but they're delaying opening 19 until probably November or beginning 2017 then hopefully we'll see some canon with top notch animation. Studio ghilibi is partnering up with Pierrot to do the naruto vs sasuke fight which is gonna be 9 episodes at best following that, there's gonna be a huge crossover with Studio ghilibi movie characters such as my neighbor totoro, ponyo, Howl's moving castle, and spirited away. The crossovers are said to last over 200 episodes so naruto won't end until probably mid 2020 or later that year when I graduate college.

The anime will go back to canon next week (May 5th 2016), along with a new Opening.

The Itachi arc is pretty good. I recommend watching episode 455 even if you hate filler.

They started filler on episode 427 but they returned temporarily to canon on episode 451 10 mins of this epsiode is canon , then they returned to filler that is itachi ******* adaptation and next week canon all the way 100% confirmed
