Alot of you seem to be misunderstanding what I meant. There's noting wrong with being born a genius or someone with lesser intelligence than others. The fact is that Kishi is always looking for a way to bring that fact up, he uses any excuse to label Naruto as an idiot and Sasuke is the shit. The blatant calling of Ashura and Naruto as 'no good' and the older brother excellent is just blatant proof of that. Kishi makes it out as if Naruto and Ashura were born bad at everything and only advanced through guts alone. what I'm saying is, its hard to relate to a character when he's constantly put down.

Naruto being talentless is complete bullshit. He had bad teachers as a kid and resorted to being a problem child because of that and the hate he got but later on when he got competent teachers his skill shone through. Mastering the Rasengan in a couple of wees, mastering using wind chakra to complete an S-rank Jutsu that even Minato couldn't do and mastering Sage Mode to a degree further than even Jiraiya is all proof of this.

What I'm getting at is, nobody is born useless and bad at everything. Which is why kishi constantly trying to label Naruto as such is irritating.

I think the Sage largely was referring to Naruto's personality. It's obvious he has potential but he's always been a goofy idiot.

Something that has been a constant in this manga is that "good guys" are given the dorky, goofy, happy go lucky personality and go serious once the crap hits the fan. The "bad guys" act like pretentious dicks 24/7. (Sauce)

Naruto isn't stupid and doesn't lack potential. The Sage said in the same chapter he's perceptive. But that doesn't mean his personality isn't one of a damn idiot/dork/loser.

I dunno about you guys, but after reading the newest chapter. I got the blatant highlight that both Naruto and Ashura are talentless idiots who need help to achieve anything. All the while Kishi is once again blatantly wanking to how cool the 'Uchiha' are.

Honestly, the guy has very little logical thought process. Naruto isn't as intelligent as he could be because of the situations of his younger years in the village. If say the villagers saw him and treated him as a hero for containing Kurama, things would have been alot more different. He was an orphan who grew up and basically raised himself. If he grew up with his parents or even Jiraiya then he would be a different person altogether and thus Kishi's explanations would be disregarded.

Maybe it was just a bad translation I suppose. It could have easily just been kishi implying that the older son inherited more natural talent due to the Sharinan and the like that we saw him with. I daresay, the Sharingan practically teaches its users itself it would have been alot more complicated to learn how to work what Ashura recieved through his strong body.

You have logic of a 10 year old. Would you rather be born into riches and have a huge ego and prejudice even though you didn't work for the money, or be someone who worked their ass off for their money and therefore gained experience, life skills and tonns of knowledge and understanding of people?

Too put it bluntly, no. The reason why is that some of his fans are total brain dead idiots or REALLY YOUNG READERS. That's why he has to put in flashbacks and beat us over the head with parallels, because if he didn't people would either forget or more would call a## pull because they missed the foreshadowing.
