I was under that misconception for a few seconds as well, OP. But, for Izanami to be activated, two of the same events must occur. I.e. Kabuto stabbing Itachi with Sasuke's sword. Which hadn't happened yet. So, Kabuto was not under Izanami at that time.
Kabuto would win. Hakugeki or Mugen Onsa followed by Bracken Dance or Sticky Spider Thread to pin him down, then place a talisman in his head.

Kabuto would win neg diff if it wasn't for plot. Want to know how? Undo Edo Tensei. What was Kabuto's whole reason for joining Tobi? To get Sasuke, he wasn't invested in the war at all but Kishi made him start caring even after he had Sasuke right there. So with no plot Kabuto would undo Edo Tensei right there. Kabuto's only active Edo's were Madara, Chiyo, and Kimimaru who he could have coffin before ending Edo Tensei? Therefore it's a neg diff win in Kabuto favor.

If they fought then Itachi have no way of breaking Kabuto's Senjutsu sound genjutsu. Plus Itachi would have ran out if chakra at some point in the fight. We saw people with large chakra reserves such as Minato and Hashirama run out of chakra so someone with low reserves which is lower as an Efo due to being an Edo wouldn't help much. People seem to think being an Edo gives you unlimited chakra where you run out, they are dead. Chakra is made by alive bodies, Edo's could replenish their chakra like a living person which it's like it's unlimited since they can replenish more and not it's not faster.

2. Without Sasuke, Itachi could never even use Izanami since Sasuke played a big part in it's success.
3. Without being a zombie, Itachi would had been killed early in the fight.
4. Without Sasuke, Itachi would had been turned back under Kabuto's control.
5. All of Kabuto's other Edo Tenseis were sealed by the alliance so he couldn't use them.
6. Kabuto couldn't just undo Edo Tensei and get rid of Itachi or else he'd lose his ace against the alliance and Obito.
7. Kabuto couldn't risk killing Sasuke so he was using babygloves against him.

Actually that was plot. Kabuto didn't care about the alliance, he only joined to get Sasuke from Obito but Sasuke was right in front of him. Kabuto only had Madara, Kimimaru, and Chiyo left so he could have easily recoffin them then ended Edo Tensei then capture Sasuke on his own. White noise, would have left Sasuke open for Kabuto to knock him out as Kabuto can do with medical ninjutsu (he did to Kiba in part 1).

No he can't. DSM Kabuto would have beaten Itachi low diff. It's simply beyond belief that people think that Itachi would win if Sasuke wasn't there, when the manga already showed us him needing Sasuke's help to win.
