Could itachi control his black flames like sasuke?

Just went back looking at itachi vs. sasuke, forgot that Itachi "stoped" amatsaru to "save sasuke's eyes" as zetsu put it, I used to think sasuke was the only one who could put the black fire out but dosen't itachi do the exact same thing here? Do you think he could shape the fire like sasuke can as well?

Extinguishing it, and shaping it with shape manipulation are two completely different things.

Sasuke was able to use shape manipulation on his Amaterasu and created his Blaze element, but at the same time it was also stated in his fight vs Danzo that he wasn't as good at using Tsukiyomi like Itachi.

This is what I'm thinking:
I think it's because Sasuke is more of a ninjutsu specialist and that's why he was able to use shape manipulation on Amaterasu and create Blaze Release. Itachi, while also good in ninjutsu, was more of a genjutsu specialist, and that's why he could use Tsukiyomi so well to the point of controlling space-time (72 hours in 1 second).

I think their own abilities gave them more control over the two techniques. Amaterasu is a ninjutsu technique, while Tsukiyomi is a genjutsu technique.



But to answer your question, Itachi was a genius prodigy that excelled at almost everything so it's very possible he could have. Obviously we can't know for sure if he could use Blaze Release, but personally I don't think he could. It's possible, but if he could then he would have used it in his fight against Sasuke. He was losing his eyesight anyways and he KNEW he was going to die so I don't see any reason for him to have held back on that.

He went full out and used everything he had in that fight to push Sasuke to his limits and to display the abilities of the Sharingan to Sasuke, so if he could then I think he would have.

Yeah it did seem that they always prefer the left eye's power, itachi's tsukuyomi came from his left and sasuke's amatsaru is in his left. hope itachi uses more of his full power in this war so we can get a better idea of just how strong he was.

itachi cant control amaterasu at least not a blaze release i forgot who it was but somebody said sasukes eyes will surpass itachis i think madara said that im not sure but once sasuke reveals his ems im sure he will do alot more that that

I don't think Itachi could do those things with Amaterasu. If you go back read either Sasuke VS KB, Raikage, or Danzou one of those battles someone mentions that Sasuke had surpassed Itachi on using Amaterasu.

I dont think anyone in the ninja world will surpass itachi. Not even Sasuke. His tsukiyomi was what he was known for. A genjutsu that I bet no one can escape from. If he could put out amaterasu, it doesnt mean he can also use blaze release (Controlling amaterasu) Itachi has full mastery over genjutsu and Sasuke hhas mastery over ninjutsu. Sasuke can use amaterasu better than Itachi, and Itachi can use tsukyomi better than Sasuke. Simple as that.

I think yes Itachi could control the ameratsu like sasuke, I think in their fight, Itachi was more or less showing Sasuke the powers he was about to possess and he wanted to rid him of ooruchimaru

Itachi likely could control Amaterasu, but he likely preferred Tsukyomi. I don't think Tsukyomi hurts the eyes as much as Amaterasu when it's used and that's likely why he preferred it.

Well they can both do amatsaru and tsukuyomi with there MS, itachi's tsukuyomi is a genjutsu but his control of it lets them feel like its 3 days but its not a space/time jutsu but his right eye still casts amatsaru, sasuke can technicly do both but can't make it feel like 3 days of torture like itachi can, sasuke can make amatsaru into shapes but apperently itachi can't which was what i wasen't sure of.

itachi is legendary he has perfected all of his MS techniques he just hasnt shown what he is fully capable off. itachi beats sasuke on tskyomi and sussano so why not amaretsu? so of course he can control amaretsu properly. sasuke was a kid when itachi had amaretsu! he is a genius and he has perfected evrey jutsu he has got. if he used the full force of his amaretsu then he probably would have killed his bro so he dis>triggered his amaretsu and we just did not see what he was fully capable of amaretsu then.
