Could Gaara beat Itachi?

Why has the OP made it unhealthy Itachi versus healthy Gaara? Sounds bias to me, but anywho, Tsukuyomi and Genjutsu are Itachi's greatest weapons. I'll agree that Gaara can handle Amaterasu, however, as I said earlier he has no counter for Tsukuyomi or the Blade Of Totsuka, or Tsukuyomi. Let's not forget that Itachi has some water techniques too, so he could cause problems for Gaara and his sand.

I'm not sure. I think Gaara has a chance but I'm not really sure. I'd say against pre edo yeah but edo Itachi is a different story.

And guys, it can go either way, if he gets hit with Genjutsu at the start that's it, game over. It just depends on how the fight goes. Otherwise Gaara could have a decent chance, but Itachi has plenty of techniques up his sleeve.

Itachi's Susanoo has an underneath also. So in the desert, where the floor is sand, Susanoo is practically useless.
