Since we're just starting out, tell me all you know of Wind Release. Also include it's relationship with the other basic elements, as well as two people proficient in the element as shown in the manga along with how they've shown using it.

Wind release is one of the five basic elemental nature transformations. It is performed by making chakra as sharp and thin as possible. Wind Release is mainly short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combine brute force and keen precision to deal cutting and slashing damage. A rarity among the five chakra natures, wind techniques are usually performed by generating air circulation and can be enhanced through this method as well. Wind-natured chakra can also be channelled into blades to increase their cutting power and overall range.Wind is strong against lightning because it is a natural electrical insulator but weak against fire because the flames are fuelled by air.Wind Release can be used in conjunction with Fire Release to augment the strength of the fire technique.Additionally, it can be used with Water Release to increase the latter's concussive and overall destructive power.Wind-natured chakra is a component of ice release, scorch release and dust release.

Temari: Temari is shows to use her weapon to enhance her wind.
Naruto: Naruto uses wind to change his Rasengan into more powerfull technices such as Wind release: Rasengan and Wind release: Rasengshuriken.

You're quite right on that. Kudos on mentioning Wind was a rarity as a nature of chakra, only three people in all of Konoha were known to have it themselves, those being Naruto, Asuma and Danzo.

Your elemental natures are spot on, it acts as an insulator for lightning and feeds oxygen to the flames in fire, to put it simply.

What would happen if two techniques, one of Wind and one of Fire, both of the same rank were to collide? What would happen?

Fire would combine with wind making it into a extremely powerfull jutsu,Capable of defeating water.

You're a little wrong on that part.

I'm asking when Fire and Wind collide with each other, not as a general combination. If you were to combine them, it becomes a Fire/Wind combo and increases the rank. For example, combining a Fire and Wind of B-Rank would make them an A-Rank combination technique.

When they collide, as in you defend against a Wind jutsu with a Fire jutsu, the Wind acts as if it's trying to extinguish the Fire, trying to put it out and weakens it. But because of the elemental advantage, the Fire goes through. It's similar to any collision of techniques with the elemental advantage. In this case:

B-Rank Wind = C-Rank Fire
B-Rank Wind < B-Rank Fire
A-Rank Wind > C-Rank Fire

So basically in order to fight Fire with Wind and come out on top, you need to use a jutsu which is two ranks higher. Of course this applies to any elemental disadvantage: trying to fight Lightning with Earth and so on.

Any questions?

(Fūton: Fūsajin no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Dust Wind Technique
Type: Defence
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user creates a gust of wind that layers an area in loose sand and dust. Doing so also acts as a sandblaster on the surrounding area. This layer of sand that accumulates on the trees during this technique makes it difficult for others to get a good footing. The initial gust can also temporarily blind opponents by lodging sand in their eyes

Simple technique, this was used in Part I by Temari when they were chasing Sasuke during the Chunin Exams arc. You create a gust of wind which throws dust and sand everywhere. It's useful for making people lose their footing, but it's a little situational when you use it. For example, you can't use this if you're fighting on water or snow since naturally there wouldn't be dust around.

(Fūton: Sensougouheki) - Wind Release: Rumbling wind wall
Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defence
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: User creates a wall of spinning wind in front of him that is used to push back weapons thrown towards him. It can also be used against taijutsu close range attacks, but the wall can be pushed back with a stronger wind jutsu or if a smoke bomb or explosive tag touches the spinning wind they will automatically get activated because of the sharpness of the wind element, damaging the user also.

A small technique where you create a wall in front of you which is capable of pushing away weapons and close combat. It's relatively weak but it's useful in that regards and against techniques like Shuriken Shadow Clone.

(Fūton: Kaze Ogawa no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Wind Stream Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique allows the user to change direction in mid-air at high speeds by simply blowing wind out their mouth. The user can also use this technique by blowing it at the ground and causing a dust cloud to rise, concealing the users location and movement.

Incredibly useful technique in battle, probably one you'll remember to use all the time. When you're in mid-air, you can use this to blow wind out of your mouth and move about at high speeds. Though it's mostly used to change direction to avoid techniques, you can use it to move around in the air when people think you'd be a sitting duck. Though you have to be specific about using this when you're in the air, because people will call you out on it, so make sure you use it in mid-air. Using it on the ground creates a dust cloud as the description says.

(Fūton: Kaze Iwa Rendan) - Wind Release: Wind Rock Barrage
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user creates a huge stream of wind that carries rocks that lifts the opponent into the air where the rocks hit them.

Like the first technique, this is rather situational as to when you can use it. It's a useful technique used for rocks and other such objects depending on the terrain which makes it quite useful. Even though the technique is situational, it's one of those things where you can create the situation. If you're in a barren wasteland, you could combine this with an Earth technique which loosens the ground, or something which creates debris and use this to throw the debris at them.

Okay, so my training is a little different from the conventional method where I provide techniques and you perform them. My style is meant to emulate that of my own sensei, Zero Kelvin where it's more discussion and theory rather than performing techniques.

These are all the D-Rank Wind techniques, and I do Wind a little differently since there isn't a "Wind Release Technique" like there is with the other elements. So with that out the way (it gets tiresome to write that out all the time >_<), I would like for you to take these techniques and rearrange them in order of what you think is the most useful in battle to the least useful, and why you chose this list.

Shikamaru rolls his eyes.
He takes a deep breath.
He reads the jutsu's
"This is what i would think the most usefull."
I chose this one as number 1 since it is a good jutsu that might save my life one day.
Using it to jump away from a jutsu,Is usefull.
But if the attack is wide,The jutsu wont work.

I chose this as Number 2.It not the best D-Rank jutsu,But it will damage your opponent.
It can be used to damage your opponent,But it is easily dodged with a water/higher wind/fire/lightning or earth tech.

This one i chose for number 3 since it does not do much damage but it can blind a opponent.
It can be used in tactic.
Such as using this jutsu and then go for a attack while the opponent is blinded.
But it can easily be dodged by higher power jutsu's

(Fūton: Sensougouheki) - Wind Release: Rumbling wind wall
Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defence
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: User creates a wall of spinning wind in front of him that is used to push back weapons thrown towards him. It can also be used against taijutsu close range attacks, but the wall can be pushed back with a stronger wind jutsu or if a smoke bomb or explosive tag touches the spinning wind they will automatically get activated because of the sharpness of the wind element, damaging the user also.
I chose this one is number 4.since it is can be used as a defence jutsu,But it can also do damage to yourself.
You can use this to protect you against shurikens and kunai's.
But it has alot of ways to work against you.
shikamaru hopes its a good enough answer
----------------------------------------------------
One thing i wonder.
When someone teaches you a jutsu(On NB) and wants you to use it,Does your bio then have that jutsu up to that tech's rank of that chakra affinity?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean if you learn a jutsu, can you use that jutsu in a battle? If you mean that, then yes. Once you learn a jutsu of a certain element, you can use it in battle. Most sensei and senpai use the order of techniques given so you'd be able to use techniques up to that one in the list. Though it all depends on your teacher. A few of my teachers have used different training methods, so it's best to go with what you've learnt by your threads rather than the list.

Anyway, that's an interesting list you've got there. Personally I would put Rumbling Wind Wall at number two because I find being able to defend against things like that is really nifty, and situational techniques aren't the best for me to use. But that's just me, your list reflects what you like and is in no way wrong or incorrect.

Okay, so this next part of training is more putting these techniques into practice, and to show you have understanding of what you have in your arsenal. The premise will be that I provide situations which you might face in a real battle, and you provide techniques as to what you think is the best to use in the situation and the worst in the situation. The idea behind this is to find out whether you know which techniques to use at which time, and which ones not to use.

If you understand, we'll move on.
